Attendance improves when you win more games?

Who knew?

We git it! You (and others) hate Coach O. Instead of cluttering up every thread that you post in with "I hate O" crap, just add the "I hate O's guts" line in you sig and be done with it!

Take it easy you twat. All I’m saying is coach O shouldn’t be as comfortable as he was under the prior inept leadership.

Every coaches seat just got warmer because Mr Woodward will hold them all accountable. You can take that to the bank.

Orgeron knows the expectations and he knows that you're only as good as your most recent results. FWIW, those results were better in 2018 with a tougher schedule than in 2017.
2019 should see more wins.

I don't think Orgeron is running away from expectations. He couldn't if he tried. I don't think Miles ran away from expectations either. They just caught up with him.

One thing that is telling is that LSU has not suffered the same immediate fate that programs such as Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Michigan or USC suffered after they lost or canned long term successful coaches. All indications are that O is making progress.

Got to hand it to you. I am surprised you would show your face around here after the way you bashed Alleva and the FBI for NOT arresting Will Wade as soon as the so-called evidence came out.

I remember you crying because federal charges were not brought against Wade immediately and that he was still the LSU coach. The last couple weeks must have been pretty rough for you.

But here you are. Respect, my man.

This is a classic..........

Nice deflection there, derek. You know damn good and well you cannot stand the fact that Will Wade is back. Between you and lester earl it's a race to see who's more full of crap. You're not fooling anyone with your foolishness.

O said “I’m aware of the expectations ... we're at LSU to win championships

So there should be no surprises then, if Orgeron goes a 4th year without any hardware to show. You simply aren't allowed half a decade to "improve" on a team that's already won 2 championships and should have won a third. Trophies should come pretty quickly at that point.

After Spurrier won an NC at UF, Zook got 3 years, Muschamp got 4, McElwain got 3.

After Mack Brown won another NC at Texas, Strong got 3 years.

After Carroll won another NC at USC, Kiffin got less than 4 years, Sarkasian 2 years, Helton now in his 4th.

After Tressel won another NC at OSU, Fickel got 1 year.

After Fulmer won another NC at Tenn, Dooley got 3 years, Jones got 4 years.

After Stallings won another NC at Bama, Dubose got 4 years, Franchione got 2 years, Shula got 3 years.

Either you can win something in 4 years, or you can't. You're not going to just eventually have things "fall into place". Woodward's an accomplished AD, he knows the stats on success and an allowable timeline.

Good analysis. I agree. Good coaches don't need 5+ years to compete at the level we aspire to compete at given our resources. Anything less than 10 wins next year will be an abject failure that should warrant change. However 11-1 with serious playoff contention should be the bar because if it doesn't happen next year, it probably isn't happening soon.

Agree with your point.

Would point out though:
- At UF Urban was between Zook and Boom.
- I thought Fickel was an interim at tOSU?
- I think Franchione left of his on accord from Bama but I don't know the whole story.

Ree acts like he supports O but when the rubber meets the road, he doesn't think O has what it takes to win a championship. The soft bigotry of low expectations.

Difficult to assail this logic.

You'd figure Ree would at least make one prediction if he had so much confidence in the coach.

The old "we can't find nobody better so the current coach is fine" argument.

Really? NOBODY is ever going to be more qualified than Ed Orgeron? Gee he must be overwhelmed with offers from other schools. Hell the NFL will come calling soon.

The only person who's said this in this thread is you

I'm just trying to get these weekend ADs to tell me who they're gonna hire. There's gotta be a long list that can recruit and compete at a high level

The good news is that if our new AD decides LSU needs a coaching change in football, he’ll execute it with the utmost competence and get the right guy. He won’t take your “we’re LSU and we’re not that great so who we gonna get” attitude.

And fortunately for LSU, you don’t hire a football coach in April. They have time to identify candidates if they need to make a move in the next few years.

Why don't you give us some names of people that we could actually get. Don't say Lincoln Riley or Dabo, coaches that wouldn't leave their jobs for LSU.

See, you want to play both sides of it. You want to say that of course, you know of better coaches out there that LSU could get yet if anyone else says it too you pounce on them.

Yeah, it makes more sense for him to crap all over the guy who hired him. That is such a great quality to have as a leader.
