No, if we are throwing that much it's because we are behind

If we are to believe that the “new” offense will emphasize more quick, short to intermediate passes I’d think we will see his completion percentage and overall efficiency improve far more than raw total passing yards will. If he puts up 3,500 plus passing yards, great... but that’s not what I’m looking for, personally. I want to see improved efficiency and a passing game that can complement and set up a strong running game.

This.

Bowl games have counted for additional stats since 2002-2003 season

Which, honestly, is kind of shitty to include but not retroactively add to former players' stat lines. It was the inclusion of the SECCG and NCG that vaulted Justin Vincent over Dalton Hilliard if I recall correctly for the all time freshman rushing record.

Dalton went for 901 rushing in 11 games. 193 attempts for a 4.7 average with 11 TDs. Justin went for 1001 rushing yards on 154 for the better average of 6.5 with 10 TDs.

Fournette eventually took the record, but it took him 13 games as well...

Just an FYI. I think it's fine to include bowl game stats, but they ought to be added to older players' stats as well. To not include them seems unfair.

To your point, Fournette got over 1000 and the freshman record by including his bowl total and there were graphics, social media posts, etc. about it. Faulk also went over 1000 for his freshman year in the Indy bowl, and actually had more rushing yards than Fournette’s freshman year, in less games (he played 11 total including the bowl, LF played all 13).

And yet LF has the “record”.

please stop with the nonsense.

Our running game would have to be absolutely pathetic for this to happen.

If he breaks the passing record we go 8-4.

Don't think it'll happen. Burrow completed under 60% of his passes last season, and LSU is not going to go away from running the ball. On top of that, unless Ed Ingram comes back soon and adds some depth and stability to the offensive line (assuming he's somewhat in shape), that group is still the biggest question mark on the team. They were suspect last year. The short, quick passing game and RPO's will certainly help Burrow on his comfort level, which should in turn help his accuracy. The core group of receivers are very talented and have the potential to be great, but remember Davey had a great group as well, including the Bilitnekof winner in Josh Reed.

No, not in 12 games. Burrow does have another year in the system, even though it's supposedly brand new. The problem there is the opponents have a year of film on Burrow that they didn't have last year. I don't think Burrow is going to make a massive leap in talent or production. He's a 5th year senior so he is what he is at this point.

I think he will throw for around 3,000, rush for around 400 and total around 25 TDs (Hopefully this is closer to 30 total with 25 passing). Very similar to last season. Nothing wrong with this as it still puts him near the top of most LSU passing records.

If you're talking about the official record, I believe he might as Mett would have been close if he played 13 games. If you are talking unofficially, no I don't think he passes the almost 3800 Rohan had.

Burrow had 2900 last year averaging 7.6 ypa. If he did nothing but increase his ypa by 1 yard he'd go from 2894 to 3259. Again, that's with no extra passing.
