If you really think that what color jersey we wear affects the outcome of games.... you need your head examined.

Why do so many rantards make an issue out of wanting to wear purple ?
Because the school colors are purple and gold. Our purple and gold jerseys are unique, and I would like to see them more than 1 or 2 times per year.

To the people who are so strict about the white jerseys: Why weren't you livid when we changed our endzones from the huge block letters to the current Geaux font? Our first game with the new font was the most painful loss in LSU history v's Tennessee in 2005.
Where were the email campaigns then demanding to go back to the traditional block letters?

It DOES make a difference. Look at all the success we've had this decade, then compare it to the lack of success we had in the 90's. Look at Florida, prior to 90, they wore orange for home games, but in 90 started wearing blue jerseys for home games. They havent worn orange in 19 years, and theyve never looked back, winning two national championships and 8 sec championships. The jersey color DOES make a difference.

Or, uh, coaches?
ETA: Spurrier returns to Florida as Head Coach in 1990. Saban takes over at LSU in 2000. Hmmm...

Mandated or not, we have a history of laying eggs in purple jerseys, and the Sugar Bowl loss to Nebraska was a game where Arnsparger CHOSE to wear purple, when he could have easily chosen the white.
That 1984 Nebraska team was ranked #1 most of the season. We were only in the Sugar since Florida was declared ineligible. LSU actually led 10-0 at halftime,so we hardly 'laid an egg'.
LSU wore purple jerseys at home vs Washington in 1983,Texas A&M in 1986,Auburn in 1988 and Texas A&M in 1990 ,also.

I'm not sure that even makes my top 20 most painful losses in LSU history.

Sorry, but Gold jersey, white paints, white helmet is the way to go. I just don't like purple shirts...sorry.
**edited**
This plus white pants and helmet. It gives a nice alternative to the purples.

I hate purple jerseys. They become the ugly of the sec for sure. And yes I was at almost every single one of the games when we had purple on and should have won. I remember the mandate by the ncaa too that I also and still do resent.
The hell with the purple jerseys.!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all,I don't think he would if he could. Thing is ,its not his decision. Since the 1999 Florida-LSU game, home team decides jersey color in conference games.

i don't like the way you made this sound, we haven't chaged too much over the years. Solid same uni, including helmet logo, for almost 30 years. We could go back fifty years to see the same uni, save for the numbers on the side of the helmet.
PS. I think our purples work well, and in our history we have used plenty of purple variations. I like the change up.

They didn't beat us, remember that.
