One extra-base hit in the last 2 games (Duplantis HR). This will not get it in league play.

I've always said it's tough to hit wild pitchers.
Btw, our base running can help there. Single plus stolen base is as good as a double. We have good team speed.
But no doubt a couple of gappers today with the bases loaded would have been nice.

They need some consistency from the bottom of the lineup. Three freshmen potentially batting in the bottom of the line up worries me.

Russian is right. I played. One plunk you don't really think about. We practiced it actually. But when your chances of being hit are exponential, you change the way you approach the plate. It ain't easy and a 90mph ball hurts even with catcher gear on...

Make it to a Regional and win the Regional. Go on to a SR and win the fricking SR. Go to the CWS and win a few games at the CWS.
That's where LSU is now as a program with Mainieri. He's been here long enough now, that the team needs to show progress towards winning a few games in Omaha and at least be competitive there.
PM hasn't had that "Edge" since winning the CWS. He's now in the post "21-0 Miles" stage and needs to step it up post season or LSU needs to cut bait and move on. They wanted far too long on Miles and the same thing will happen here. That's why I'm referring to him from here on out as "Milesinieri.".................

Correct me if I'm wrong Wasn't Papierski the number 1 prep catcher a couple of years ago? He is hitting 208 and plays spotty defense.We need a catcher
