re: Promote Aranda to head coach and be done with it

If I were "King" for a day (pun intended) I'd act quickly to do this. (Note: this will never happen! He won't "act quickly.")

Here's what I'd do. I'd try to find a way NOT to fire Orgeron outright. (Heaven's knows, if he loses both coordinators in the span of a few days, that's a clear signal there's something terribly wrong with his leadership). Create a new position in the Athletic Dept.? Minister of Gumbo? Yeah, OK, I'm being silly, but ... I mean, is there some position he could be given?

LSU cannot let Aranda get away, particularly to a division rival. Either pony up the bucks to keep him as DC, or, promote him to HC and either create a new position for O, or, fire Alleva and slide O over into his position.

I like the idea minus the keep Canada unless that’s what he wants to do. I also still like my go after kiffin option also but I’m great with aranda.

Whoever says history doesn't repeat itself is retarded (and that definitely doesn't bode well for O/LSU). The last time we lost to Notre Dame, we lost our DC to aTm. I remember that go-round that Les kind of softened the underwhelming Steele hire by getting O on the staff as DL coach. Some of us were really excited about the recruiting possibilities (plus he's a very proven DL coach). Others warned that they wouldn't want that snake near the program. Here I am, 4 years later, eating crow.
