Anyone else see him as being extremely similar to Alex Faedo? I've watched Faedo a couple times, and Hess reminds me a lot of him stuff wise. Similar size as well. Both get the same kind of action out of their fastball and their sliders are untouchable. I think Hess has a good chance of reaching that level in the future.

he might be the last person I'd want to take on in a street fight. That's all I have to say

I hope so Al Faedo is damn good. His parents are also trolls for giving him that name.

Needs to develop a 3rd pitch but I think he can at least be as good as Lange.

I think he means his size, fast ball velocity, and slider...very similar to the Florida ace, and first rounder....kind of agree, but think Hess will project better, although being less proven, he will have a few more mph on his fastball, and his slider has bigger bite...He proves himself as a starter, next year, he could go top 10..

He has 3 now. A plus fastball, cutter and a plus slider with the slider being his our pitch. He has better stuff than Lange right now. He's LSU's next Nola.

Hess got them crazy eyes. I know he'll be a starter for us, but he'd make a fun John Rocker type closer.

Lot of discussion about the rotation next year. I like walker on Friday and Hess on Saturday. After seeing walker cut you up with maddux type stuff then having to see Hess behind him with smoltz stuff... that's tough on people

If he had 3 plus pitches with one being 95 cheese he wouldn't be in the bullpen. Guy has 25BB in 50 something innings. Having a plus pitch means you have control of it too. I don't think Nola walked 25 guys his whole careeer here

I know next to nothing about baseball, but he looked the part of a future MLB closer in that game. The crazy look, the size, high velocity, and that strike 3 pitch was nasty. Plus he's got to have steel nerves to get on the mound as a freshman in that situation against FSU's best hitter that night and put him away.

Hess has the makings of a closer in the MLB. He's got the intimidation factor.

Hess makes a great closer. He gets all jacked up and emotional. Faedo is the exact opposite Calm and looks like he's not going all out every pitch
