Well, the absolute beating they laid on us flashed the potential that they have, so I wouldn’t doubt them being in the preseason top 25.

There is no world where Bama and UGA aren’t preseason ranked 1 and 2. And really who cares? By the time the CFP rankings come out, there will be a ton more info.

Was thinking same thing. Notre Dame will be ranked ahead of LSU no matter WHAT. Book it.

ND stands for Notre Dame.

You gotta figure Bama, UGA, Michigan, Ohio State and maybe USC, Clemson and Tenn will be ranked ahead of LSU. Assuming LSU beats Purdue, I believe the Tigers will be 8th-10th.
It really doesn't matter though. Winning takes care of the polls.

LSU will not be number two, dude put down the reefer.

Because LSU is the reigning West champ returning about 17 starters including 11/11 on offense and Alabama is replacing many of their top playmakers including at QB.
Lol.
You guys never learn, do you? For the past fifteen years, people on this board screech: “Bama is rebuilding!” When they just reload and contend and win nattys.
Now granted, for the first time in almost twenty years, we don’t have an absolute moron as head coach, but no way LSU is ranked ahead of gumps based on this “evidence” you offered.

TCU will comeback to reality cause they won’t play (6-7) backup QB’s next year :) They shouldn’t be top 10.

LSU and FSU will both be top 10 when they meet to open 23/24 season.
I'd expect Georgia or Michigan to open #1. Ohio St, USC, and Bama will be top 10. Probably Oregon. Utah if Cam Rising returns. Clemson if Klubnik has a good bowl showing. Polls may be high on Ole Miss and Texas, too.

Alabama and USC ranked ahead of LSU is a no brainer. Why would that need to be explained to anyone that is up to speed on college football?
Posted on 12/25/22 at 7:03 pm to houtigerfan
A&M is stacked with talent and should be ranked.
Posted on 12/25/22 at 7:13 pm to tigerbru17
Lsu will be ranked 12-15

From purely a rankings perspective, they were also playing a ton of first year freshman at the end of the season including the QB. Their biggest question will be how well/poorly they end up doing in the portal after the dust settles in the spring as they are laughably thin at a lot of positions. I could realistically see them pre-season Top 25.
Regardless, from a real world perspective, Jimbo will inevitably frick it up and their absolute ceiling will be 8-4, with 6-6 being more likely.

No possible way USC is 1.
