A friend of mine, after the Troy loss, may have told his wife he was re-dedicating himself to her and the family this fall. He planned outings on Saturdays. Well, he checked scores a few times and abruptly cancelled two outings and is now trying to walk the entire sentiment back. What should he do?

I would tell him to feign amnesia and disappear for a couple of days.
When he gets back he carries on like nothing happened and takes back his Saturday's.

Your friend needs some serious help and needs to re-evaluate his life if football is running his life like that.
What your friend did and is now doing is pretty pathetic on several levels.

I told myself that, between LSU and the Saints (NFL BS in general), I was going to do more fishing this fall.

I'm still going to do more fishing. I'll just do it around LSU games.

ETA: moral of the story, find time. Work around it. Why not do both?

Plan family outings at TS or watch party nearest you... Teach family how to prepare a tailgate and practice marathon alcoholic consumption without losing ur shite.

Of course not, but you can have both. A little flexibility on both sides can work wonders.

He should simply suffer from FRI-Football Related Illness.

Women love to nurture, she will even bring him food during the game.

Sounds like your friend will soon be meeting his wife’s new best friend. His name is Mr. Divorce Attorney. Glad my wife and kids love football as much as I do.

Advice for all you young single ballers out there. Don’t marry a woman that does not like football, hunting and fishing. Just don’t do it.

This is a prime example of how, once in a while, reading comments on Tiger Rant can save your life.

Well done sir.
