Proactive measure; the next response to reporters from Alleva.

I hope Alleva is thinking about these kinds of questions.


Reporter: "Joe. I'm so and so form XXX News. Can you give us a status between LSU and Coach Will Wade and how long do you believe he will be suspended?"

Alleva: "At this time the status has not changed. Coach Wade is still not meeting with us due to our requirement that the NCAA have a representative present at the meeting and the advice of his legal counsel. We understand that. We understand the potential legal risk that a meeting would impose upon Coach Wade and by extension LSU. We are in agreement with Coach Wade's legal counsel. But from LSU's perspective it is extremely important that an NCAA representative attend this meeting.

Coach Wade also understand's LSU's position. At least that is my understanding. I know, the fans know and Coach Wade knows the only place he'd rather be right now is on the sidelines coaching his basketball team. But due to the predicament we are in from the content of the Yahoo Sports article it is my duty as AD to keep Coach Wade suspended until this matter is cleared up. It protects Coach Wade and it protects LSU.

But please understand, that just because Coach Wade is suspended do not imply that we want to separate from Coach Wade. In fact, the opposite. I made the decision to suspend Coach Wade to ensure that not only is LSU compliant from an NCAA perspective but also Coach Wade.

In terms of timing I expect to have this cleared up by the end of April plus or minus a couple of weeks. If anything changes between now and the end of April/beginning of May I will let you guys know. Coach Wade should be back to his regular duties by then"
