HC. That doesn't include his staff, or the fact that you had to go to your donors to get the money to pay Orgeron's ridiculous buy out...that Woodward unnecessarily saddled LSU with.

Surprised there aren’t many threads about this game. Do people not much care anymore? I’m kind of stoked to see how we do and see how motivated the players are

Real excited about this game. I expect tigers to own this matchup from start to finish. 5 or 6 minutes in they don’t render the lead.

The program was just gutted.

Hard to feel good about things at this point.

It is a bittersweet feeling. On the one hand you are excited for the tournament. On the other, it is difficult to have a lot of hope for success when the AD pulled the rug out from under the team with the ulterior motive of trying to ensure limited success and prevent favor being curried for the HC he was eventually going to fire. It is even more bittersweet knowing that with a loss the entire program will be torn down to the studs and the period of KNOWING your team will be competing in March will come to an end.

Ignorance would have been bliss for the fanbase should Wade still be coaching. We wouldn't have known Woodward was going to fire him immediately after LSU's tournament run ended. So there would be a ton of excitement today. Now, it just feels like the program is sitting in the electric chair with Woodward waiting for the go ahead to flip the lever.

It won't happen, but my dream would be to watch this team make a run all the way to a national championship...in New Orleans...with thousands of LSU fans in attendance incessantly reigning hell on Scott Wooward like they did to Alleva at the Vanderbilt game in 2019 (still, perhaps the most uncomfortable situation for one person I've ever seen in person. Then, after the team cuts down the nets every single player announces they are leaving LSU. Basically telling Woodward "here's your national championship. Now go rebuild the program from scratch."

We are going to have a front row seat in seeing woodward try to build the basketball program. I have awful reservations about it. The dude got frustrated at Wade asking for better facilities constantly.

The more time that passes the more we see the weakness or the flaws in his personality. Dude didn't have the balls to fire Nikki Caldwell, fired Wade over the phone, didn't tell the team about firing Wade, let Orgeron punk his arse and mention the buyout 3 times when woodward "fired" him, made awkward jokes about him and O being besties and how they will still fish together.

Like bro. Just fricking come out and stop being a bitch and get to the point. There was no need for the "we are exhausted by the negativity" press release. It shows a weak leader. Just fricking say "We thank Coach Wade but his contract states that Level 1 NOAs would lead to firing with cause even without LSU accepting responsibility." Instead we get the weak bullshite "exhausted of negativity."

It is when I jumped off the woodward boat officially. I was pissed at firing Wade but holy frick that statement has me incredibly worried for the future of this program.

The one bit of optimism I have is that though I think Woodward is overrated by this board (overrated does not equal bad), all of his major hires at A&M and LSU have been coaches with significant pedigrees. So, it is reasonable to assume that is the type of basketball coach he is looking to hire here. If he does, we know that a basketball program can be completely rebuilt to a championship level within a year or two. Now, can he actually get such a coach to LSU...a school that doesn't have the cache in basketball that it has in football and baseball (relative to the landscape of those sports)...remains to be seen. Arizona looked to be somewhat on the brink of destruction after the fired Miller last season. Their new coach came in, salvaged some of the prior roster, brought in some transfers, and now has them as one of the favorites to win the national championship. The team LSU plays tonight, Iowa St., was an absolute disaster last season (2-22). They lost 11 players from that team after Prohm was fired. This year, with a new HC, and some key transfers, they are playing in the NCAAT tonight.

Yep depending on sanctions at least Wade would have left the program with good bones if a coach can salvage it.

That is why I think Scotty needs to get the hire in as soon as possible. Work on keeping Murray/Miller and then add a few transfers to be competitive next year.

I’m excited about the game and interested to see how the guys play.

Granted the rug has been pulled out from them in many ways (coaching, financial…). They still need to have some pride and play hard .

Go tigers

Right? What negativity ? Outside of a handful of Rantards the only “negativity” came from the journalists who threw the same shite against the wall for THREE YEARS before anything of substance emerged. Scott was all for letting O see out the last 6 weeks of the regular season as attrition continued to mount but couldn’t wait to get rid of Wade before the tournament. Shallow.

I think we are getting a preview of LSU/Iowa State in this Loyola/OSU game. Ugly game with bad offense.

Enjoy Milwaukee Tiger fans.

The Fiserv Forum is pretty sweet as is the Deer District surrounding the arena.
