You forgot the game @ Auburn

That said, I wouldn't consider the Bama and 2nd Ole Miss games to have been blowouts. LSU pulled away late in the 2nd half, but not necessarily huge wins.

UF #2 and Auburn.

Although i wouldnt count the bama game. Bama came back and was very much in it late. Despite the final score.

It really is the truth. I hope to se both teams come out and play good basketball and LSU win, but with both teams, you never know. Both could play good, both could play bad, or one team could totally dominate. I think we are pretty even with them being more consistent and us maybe having a bit higher of an upside, but just barely.

I never trust this LSU team. From top (the HC) to bottom they are just way too prone to bouts unbelievable stupidity game after game. However, taking off my P&G glasses, I generally like teams in March who can defend. In this matchup that is LSU. Prior to the complete disaster vs. UT, LSU was trending up Kenpom at a rapid pace. It was almost exclusively because of their defense. I think LSU's guards will get out and defend NC St.'s guards. They've done it before (see both Ole Miss games).

2 things that concern me:

1. NC St. is hot from deep. They have the potential to knock down a lot of 3's. If that happens, LSU is probably toast.

2. Gottfieid doesn't waste time and goes to a zone early. Jones has ZERO clue what to do against a zone defense. The whole structure of his offense is predicated on isolation plays. If State goes zone, we have to pray that BOTH Hornsby and Patterson are on. Otherwise it could be a long nignt

The Ole Miss matchups seem to me to be the closest thing to NCSU we have played all year, I totally agree.

Turner said he has no ill-feelings for LSU, but of course I could see him going off and having one of those nights. We go after him with Hornsby or Quarterman and make sure he has a hand in his face at all times.

The one thing that helps us if they zone is their lack of large size in the post. We have been relatively successful against zones when the post players cannot get a hand in the face of both bigs doing the high/low passing. Some of our most impressive offensive performances have come using the high/low passing in the post.

How is this negative..

This team could be really, really good. However, they constantly shoot themselves in the foot unnecessarily. That's not being negative, just completely realistic. Read any scouting report on LSU, they will all say the exact same thing.

Without question Alt. And it's not depth or any of the other convenient rationalizations, it's what you say above. We can debate why the high rate of foot shootings...I've stated my opinion ad nauseam.

The end of that Auburn game regulation was a classic illustration of it by both players and staff. Some of it was simply unbelievable.

But when motivated and excited to play, this team has shown up and shown up well. I think they will be tomorrow.

Dude you take a shot at Jones in nearly every post.

I love how every single play, no matter what, the coach is to blame. But when we do well against a zone it's not because of him. People generally don't understand how to break a zone, so they just criticize and bash. Breaking a zone is ball movement, penetration, and/or shooting. Our guards get lazy and just chunk up 3's and don't try to create. You can only run so many plays against a zone. Especially if the other team is not a good shooting team.

Yeah, forgot Auburn, work was in the way of making my list.

I probably shouldn't count Alabama and Florida #2 for that matter. The latter was an emotional win but they made us earn it.

But the poster was cheating by citing the SEC schedule anyway. We didn't hava a lot of great games before the conference schedule.
