I will most likely go to Bar Deco and get some brisket nachos and a few beers before the game. They have a nice rooftop area, and its across from Capital One Arena.

No shite? We'd go there before Wednesday night Wiz games when they still ran the college ID promotion and get after the discount pitchers

I moved away like five years ago, but still make it back for work a few times a year. Don't typically make it to the gates of Chinatown however.

Bar Deco is legit. A few of us at will be at Penn Commons before the game tomorrow. Yard House is good as well and is a few blocks north of the arena.

I think green turtle has a few more weeks left before it turns into a sportsbook. I think Ted is trying to get that off the ground by next season.

Rocketbar will be a shitshow after the games Friday.

Looks like they just opened a Taco Bamba north of the arena. That’s a must visit for some awesome tacos. Started as a hole in the wall spot in Falls Church.

I like Penn Commons too. I am rolling solo so I will be really just looking for Purple and Gold and then heading in.

There's a Spanish restaurant/bar about a block away that I go to every time I am in the area. Great food/atmosphere. La Tasca if i remember correctly

I was considering Penn Commons too and it's next to bar louie if that ends up being more LSU friendly

Leave Richmond after 10 am. Drive to Franconia-Springfield Metro. Park there and Metro in. It will only take about 4 hours.

Only sort of kidding...

that will be a nightmare.

Your best bet would honestly be to park at Franconia-Springfield and metro in from there

by the time you get to the Franconia parking garage there should be plenty of spots available since it's Friday evening. Think it's like 4 bucks to park. The ride in may be between $4-6 but that will be cheaper than paying to park near the arena and you'll want to pull your hair our driving in the city

And it’s all the same headed back to Richmond after the game right? Just making sure everything still open then

depending on how late you metro back. If you metro back after the LSU game you'll be fine. I believe the last train leaves around 1am to head back. Even if the trains aren't running, you'll still be able to get to your car and exit the station so no worry there.

Worse case you uber/taxi back to Franconia. That will be $25 for an uber I believe. Parking in the city will be $30+ especially around the arena.

Nah, that's pretty spot on. Heading north on I-95 from Richmond to DC on any Friday afternoon can easily take 3 hours, and the back roads aren't that much better. There always seems to be slow-downs around Quantico and Woodbridge before even getting close to DC. Coming back to Richmond should be a breeze.

Use Google Maps or Waze to watch for alternate routes. One time the quickest way for me to get to Alexandria from Richmond was to exit at Fredericksburg, drive over the Dahlgren bridge into Maryland, and then drive through National Harbor. This normally wouldn't make any sense but that's the way it was.

I second the idea of taking the Metro in. I've taken it in from near my buddy's place at the Van Dorn station into DC and it's easy peasy.
