Saban won the SEC at both LSU and Alabama in his second year. Urban Meyer did the same at Florida.
So great coaches can see great results in year two.

Repost this during the summer once we see the roster. If LSU can get a full 32 say 16 hs/ 16 transfers it might be a faster rebuild than ya think.

I think we should throttle down our expectations. Success in year 2 is possible, but Kelly should be given 3 full years before an honest accounting can really take place, with measurable improvement from year to year.
I'm not surprised to see us not diving in the deep end of the NIL this offseason, for a number of reasons. First the buyout expense and a top 5 recruiting class in the same season is a whole lot of resources to expend. Secondly, let the new staff identify and recruit their players. Once that occurs, Im sure we will spend smartly.
I think we will see an enormous levels of growth from year 1 to year 2, but the growth from years 2 to 3 will be in orders of magnitude. I just hope our fanbase can endure this first year without cannibalizing itself.

It all depends on recruiting and player development. Certainly the offensive line needs to be addressed. How can all of these highly rated guys such as Dumerville, Thomas, etc. crap out? I do have faith in Davis as a coach and in Kelly to demand excellence.

If this thread is any indication, our fan base is not ready for whats to come. And that’s not surprising as we’ve seen 20 years of success and gotten accustomed to 8-9 wins basically being the floor for the program.
It seems as though the majority have us winning 8+ games in Year1. I certainly hope they are right, but I will be shocked if Kelly wins 8+ games in Year1.

2023 we will be in playoff contention imo
Polian is a hell of a talent evaluator and will plug the obvious holes in our roster with day 1 starters.
Kelly and Denbrock being so familiar with each other will help out in a big way. They will hit the ground running when he gets here.
It’ll be up to the young men on the team to buy in 100% and get after it. Kelly will get these boys right quickly. We have a good base to start off with
