The foundation is there to a perineal contender. There are so many variables during a season that affect the outcome. Injuries, officiating, staff stability, schedule, weather & now the damn transfer portal. For a season like 2019, it takes luck; everything has to fall in place at the right time.

"2020+ has a nice comfortable sound.

We are here and we ain't backing down".

Brennan all SEC. Marshall, Chase, and McMath, best receiving group in the country.

We should be in an up cycle in the 2021 season. It’s shaping up much like 2019.

We're going to have Brennan throwing to the Biletnikoff winner (Chase) and another guy who should be All SEC and might make All American teams (Marshall) in 2020.

Both those WRs are gone after next year, almost 100%. And with Brennan being a redshirt junior who could have a BIG year, there's a pretty good chance he's gone too. Otherwise he's going to need to break in some new WRs.

I don't know if we can make the playoffs either year, but I suspect 2020 will be a better offense than 2021.

Vegas knows something.

Burrow at this point was 200-1 for the Heisman

Brennan right now at 20-1.

Take that for what it's worth.

It is because of the offense we now run and 2/3 top receivers coming back.

Absolutely. We could have the same team as last season, with Burrow, and not make the playoffs. The ball bounces different each season.
We have a shot with Brennan.

I predicted 15-0 last year...and the year before, and the year before that.
So I'm going to predict our next CFP appearance is next year. But if I was a betting man I'd put my money on 2021. By that time we will have mostly flushed the weak 2018 class, and the exceptional 2019 class will be third year players. In today's game, the third year is the money year for programs that recruit at an elite level. Also, we'll have a returning, veteran QB.

2020 really comes down to how much better Trask and Nix get. Both UF and AU are going to be very hard to beat at home if they have good qb play.

Alabama will be great as usual but their defense isn’t scary anymore and they have a turnover machine playing qb. Plus they have to come to Baton Rouge.

Texas will be worse imo. They lose a lot on offense and their defense is nothing to write home about. Ehlinger is a gamer but he isn’t gonna scare anybody on the road.

Everybody else on the schedule LSU will be double digit favorites. 9-3 is the floor and will need a few good bounces on the road to get back to the playoffs.

I'm sticking with my original prediction of 2021. 2020 we are 13th in the SEC in returning production. In 2021 we should be in the top 3 of the SEC. We will have a deep veteran front 7 on D in 2021 and year 2 of Pelini at DC. Brennan will have a season starting under his belt and Gilbert will be one of the most dangerous receivers in the SEC along with Emery/TDP ground and pound.

If Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma and alashama can have (or are predicted to have) great seasons and be in CFP contention in consecutive years, WHILE losing starting QBs and other players, WHY CAN'T LSU ??????

ESPN has us TWELFTH in early preseason polls, but those other four are magically in the Top Five ?!?!?!?

Can anyone name the last time we went in to the Swamp and Jordan-Hare and won both games? That’s a jump I’d love to see us get over. This is what has often doomed us in even years.

That seems to be the problem on even numbered years. Time to clear that hurdle imo

Bryce Young isn't beating LSU as a freshman in Tiger Stadium.

Yep Bama is loaded.. but so is LSU. If The freshman is the starter.. that probably means Bama lost to Georgia. And it gives LSU an advantage at QB.

I agree that there has not been a home field advantage for LSU anyway.. that is in the old world of I formations and no analysts on the LSU side.

This year will be different.
