You mean beyond the 0-1 start?

We usually don't dominate them in the swamp but if we can piss on their homecoming parade it would
Be glorious. This year we get it done. 31-21!

This is what I would be excited about not necessarily believe. I think this is a 9-3/10-2 team at best.

9-3 best 8-4 probable. As is always the case with LSU, if QB play is at least average it could be a great year.

Looks reasonable to me and a definite improvement over last season. I honestly believe we're capable of finishing 11-1 against this schedule with our talent(lone loss obviously being to Bama).

Tennessee? Really? I understand the environment and time of the year we play them but if we did lose that game it would be by less than a field goal. I just don't see us losing to them. Maybe auburn or Florida splitting that game and more than likely to bama but Tennessee will be trash this year they are having attrition issues on both sides of their line.

LSU 2017 football team will go 8-4 in another rebuilding year because the school waited too long to fire Les Miles.
For the past 4 recruiting classes (ya know, the players on the team right now) LSU has ranked #2 in the nation, tied with Florida St and Ohio St.
This is NOT a rebuilding year.
Quit making excuses.

If we lose to Tennessee then nothing else even matters.
I agree. What's the deal with all the Tennessee hype in this thread?
They ended the regular season with a loss to Vanderbilt, and lost a lot of their key players: Dobbs, Kamara, and Derek Barnett to name a few.

7-5 or 8-4...... nothing has changed and we lost talent. Idk where some of u ppl get ur thoughts.

All of these predictions have the Troy game being a blowout, but I feel like they aren't just going to be this cupcake that everyone thinks they are. They were on of the better Group of 5 teams lat year at 10-3. I think we win and and I don't think it'll be particularly close, but I don't think it'll be a complete rout either. I'd say 31-10 is reasonable if we play well.

No.

BYU's offense is better than LSU's offense.
LSU's defense is better than BYU's defense.
But as everyone knows, those aren't the actual matchups. BYU fans don't believe in the LSU offense's ability to be all world in their first game in a brand new offense--especially going against a Top 20-30 defense.
As such...
...low scoring affair is what will result.
Turnovers and special teams will determine this one. In 2016, BYU only gave up an average of 2.5 yards per punt return and an average kick return of only 18.3 yards.
BYU was second in the nation in turnovers caused (31) while leading the nation in interceptions (21). And that is while causing 28 fumbles and only recovering 10 of them. That's a lot of 50-50 plays going the other way. Possibility of 3 to 4 turnovers per game moves the needle for a team's chance of winning.
But as for me, I go back to who touches the ball every play. Tanner Mangum is FAR better than Danny Etling. Not even a comparison really. It's the greatest talent discrepancy in BYU's favor in the game.
LSU has a special one in Guice behind a depleted offensive line. BYU has a special one in Mangum behind an OL that is the strength of their squad. One of those situations is better than the other. In a close game, that is the difference.

Were so much better on the oline than ppl think. The only thing that can hurt us is our starting tackles getting hurt long term.

What's this the 40th damn thread on the same exact damn thing?
Posted on 8/10/17 at 3:17 pm to Space Cowboy
LSU goes 9-3 losing at Alabama (3-13), at Florida (16-20, and at State, 28-30 (Nick Fitzgerald is best qb in the SEC.)
