Pre-BCS Game Bars...that aren't tourist trap and are not on Bourbon

Anyone have advice on places for the pops and I to have a drink or two before the game. A location that isn't in the heart of bourbon and is not too rowdy?
Over 30 crowd?
TIA

Chart Room, best prices in the 1/4

Just wander into one. DBA is a favorite of mine and if you are not looking to watch the game in the bar then it's what I'd recommend. YOu might have to pay a small cover fee, but you'll get some quality entertainment (music not strippers).

Try the Harbor on N.Peters We frequent it before most Saints games. Good prices on the beer and usually not overcrowded. Pretty good walk to the Dome from there though.

The Touche...right next to the Rib Room. Father (who is 72) has frequented that establishment since the 60's, and before all significant LSU games in New Orleans. Brother and I will be accompanying him on the 9th.

Liuzza's Restaurant & Bar
3636 Bienville St, New Orleans, LA 70119-5203
(504) 482-9120
I went there when I was in High School in the late 60s. They still serve draft beer in frozen 12 ounce goblets. Great place for lunch also. It is more of a neighborhood family place than a bar but a good place to spend time.

I have recommended the Bourbon Pub to most of my out-of-town Alabama friends.
