but I also wouldn’t agree PM hasn’t ran the program into the ground unlike Smoke.

It was trending that way but this current freshmen class saved that from happening.

Man y’all did this same shite when Les miles was at the end too. His resume’ looked great and y’all would pull up all these names to compete him to and that just is not how it works. The program was clearly slipping under Miles regardless of his body of work, and the same thing has happened under Paul

It’s college baseball, just get me there, mske sound coaching decisions, and recruit good players. You might only win 1 or 2 in 10 years but that is excellent.

PM had a helluva recruiting class. Can O'sullivan pull that off outside of Florida?

Just for clarity, KOS has gotten florida to the cws semifinals 3 of the last 5 years and been to the cws 4 of the last 5 years. Thats incredible really.

If the definition of “underperforming” is not winning the National Championship then every coach in the country is underperforming on a rotating basis. It’s a terrible take.

The question about his recruiting isn’t if he can do what is already being done at LSU, anyone being considered has to do that a minimum (and O’Sullivan would). The question is can he get it to Florida’s level, or how much he can improve on the current in comparison to others.

It is a ridiculous take.

Nobody is frickin winning 5 in 10 years ever again

Get me to Omaha 7 of 10 years and play for the championship 2-3 times..that’s incredible

shite, Tim Corbin only has 2. He’s had great teams just like Florida and LSU, and has recruiting advantages, and only has 2.

Let’s see he has been at Florida 12-13 years and won one college World Series.

It’s like LSU football, it partly recruits itself.

And KOS is actually a circuit recruiter unlike Paul.

The recruiting will very much be fine.

Moscona mentioned this morning he thinks Cain could be retained if KOS is brought on, too. Thinks Dunn & Smith would be gone

I don't know anything about O' Sullivan's personality, but you have to admit that his results have been elite for Florida. He has never had a team not make the post-season there, he has been to the CWS 7 times in the 12 years it was possible to go (and his team was #1 when COVID ended last season), he has had CWS streaks of 3 and 4 years in a row (I don't think Skip ever went 4 years in a row), he won their only NC, was runner up another year and is the winningest baseball coach in UF history as of this year.

When he took over, UF had fired their coach for having two consecutive seasons where they didn't finish over .500 and O' Sullivan already has more CWS appearances than all other UF coaches in history combined. And that's with UF not caring about baseball and little fan support.

I caught a few minutes and heard him say someone with LSU ties being in an admin type role, did he mention Cain by name at some point?

And again to be clear, I’m not worried about recruiting falling off or not being able to stay on the current pace. It’s about how many more notches can the new coach ramp it up.

Whoever comes in has a really good foundation here. Figure the next couple of years should be really good.

He did. Now whether Matt has connections or not, it's always hard to tell with the way he talks.

I think recruiting at LSU is rather easy if you have the energy, which i think KOS has. Ben McDonald mentioned always seeing him scouting at his own son's games. Paul doesnt do that. So you have KOS, another guy who will coordinate recruiting, and that is a strong team.

I think the way you develop & motivate becomes the key. And i dont think KOS has any issues with that.

How is he at hiring staff?

Paul left a lot to be desired there
