Despite our youth and inexperience in certain key areas, we played with and arguably should have beat one of the best teams in the country. I think that the way we lost is going to leave a bad taste in the players mouths. This game demonstrates the potential for a monstrous season in 2015. Thus, kids like Travin Dural, Kwon Alexander, and Danielle Hunter will see opportunity to win the SEC, beat Bama, and compete for the National Title next year. If we avoid the mass exodus as in years past, watch out because this team will be nasty. Thoughts?

Every thing is lined up perfectly if we can master the most important position on the football field...

If we can return all of the non seniors... we will dominate next year until we play the Refs at the Bama game

I'd be surprised if we kept 2 of the 3

If we can keep 1 one each side of the ball out of Hawkins, V Alexander, K Alexander, and D Hunter, we will be set up very strong for next year. Need a new QB though.

Recent information suggests that Dural's mom really wants him to stay and get his degree. Plus, I'm not so sure how high he's projected to be drafted, but you have to assume the passing game improves next year, which in turn could improve his stock. Not sure on the other two.

Yes at LSU we always look to next season because of this season. It does not matter because we develop every position on the field except the most important one and that is quarterback. You think Jennings will be better next year? Why? You think Harris might get the start next year?
Why? Les will say he is going with Jennings next season because of his experience and nothing will change. We will be good everywhere except the ability to get the ball to receivers consistently and enough to take the heat off of the run. Result? Same as this year. Yes the defense will be great. But the record will end up the same.

Travin Dural
my guess is he stays

Dural would run great at the pro day and he has had a knee injury so that may lead to him leaving. However he needs a LOT of work on his route running and he would benefit from another year in college

Kwon Alexander
HE GONE

Alexander should go, he is ready

Danielle Hunter

Hunter better stay. He has "questionable" technique to put it mildly. Looks like tarzan, plays like jane. I dont understand why, but every snap of the ball he stands damn near straight up. That habit will get you cut in May mini-camp at the NFL level

They affect each others draft stock IMO. If they are smart, they come back and help each other boost their stock. With this defense, they'd be foolish to leave early

Simple question. Please answer yes or no: Did Mettenberger improve over the course of his career at LSU?

It's never foolish if the price is right. For our defense it would be beautiful.

I agree on offense, but not defense. We replace Kwon and Hunter with talent and depth. We probably won't be as good at those positions as we were this year, but we'll be much better at other positions like the other two LB's and the DT's. Debo Jones will give us a very good replacement for Kwon. Tashawn Bower, Lewis Neal, Teheuma, and Clark will set us up nicely at DE.

On offense, we need to develop a lot of lineman. If I had one junior on the team I could retain it would be Vadal. If you gave me a second choice it would be Hawkins. This is even though I don't think they're the top two juniors on the team.

Bama got acceptable play from an incoming freshman tackle this year, so maybe we can do the same with Tillery or little (big?) Teheuma.

Here is my opinion

Dural: Stays. He needs to get a bit stronger and show he can be physical with elite CBs

Vadal: 50/50 There are very solid reasons either way,he can definitely improve stock coming back, but he saves wear and tear leaving.

Hawkins: Stays. No reason not to. He hasn't looked elite, and there are a lot of OTs out there ahead of him

Hunter: Stays. He has a lot to gain coming back, the numbers aren'y there, and he knows it.

Kwon: I think he leaves. He is undersized a little but but that knee injury is scary. He has had a great year, and will get drafted later than he should but still pretty high.

Mills. I think he comes back. Idk just a feeling and he isn't exactly an enormous Safety.

If we return all of them it would be nuts though.

returnig 20-19 starters on both sides of the ball, depending on who you are counting. (Counting Fournette as the starting RB)

3/4 the DLine 3/5th the Oline and all skill position players, except Neighbors.

He is a RS Sophomore that we should try to retain.
