Let me tell you about what is going to happen over the next year to change the mood of the fans in regards to the football program. The dominoes start to fall next weekend. First off, all of these things have a very legit chance of happening. They will happen, one at a time.

*LSU beats A&M in a high scoring thriller in Death Valley and moves up to #15 in the polls.
*LSU absolutely destroys Arky and moves up to #13 in the polls.
*Bama loses to either Auburn, Missouri, or in the national title game.
*LSU beats Texas, Oklahoma, or Baylor in the Cotton Bowl and finishes the season ranked #9 in all the polls.
*LSU closes out the recruiting class with the following players: Fournette, Hootie Jones, Quille, Tony Brown, Speedy Noil, Clifton Garrett, Gerald Willis, Kenny Young, Malachi Dupre, and Travonte Valentine.
*LSU begins the season ranked #10 in the polls based on the strong finish to the 2013 season.
*LSU beats Wisconsin in front of a raucous crowd in Houston. Fournette and Jennings put on a show. LSU climbs to #8.
*LSU manhandles UL-Monroe, Miss St., and New Mexico to climb to #5 in the nation.
*LSU defeats Auburn on the road in overtime to climb to #3 in the polls.
*LSU steam rolls Florida a week after Muschamp is fired midseason, the steam rolls Kentucky and Ole Miss (payback is a bitch) in Death Valley and climbs to #2 in the polls.
*Nov 8, #1 Bama vs. #2 LSU in Death Valley in prime time.

Just sayin'.

You are right it could happen, and I would be one happy mofo if it did. And Tiger Nation would be back on the Miles train if that did happen.

Problem is we have had 9 years of Lestesticles to show us that it is more likely that he will frick it up somehow than your scenario happening.

Sorry not trying to rain on your parade, just sayin'

I'm all in on all of those line items. As you point out, it starts with a win next weekend vs. A&M to get things movin'.

pumpers have gone insane.

I fear for their safety after JFF goes in dry next week.

Solid post. All possible scenarios and a lot of them are quite likely. Having a playoff system will also help our team to stay motivated for late season games if we lose early.

Need to add that the 2014 season will begin with Tiger Stadium's new SEZ deck in place, which will be a positive.

and based on the way they quit against Bama, what "momentum" do they have?

shite, they dont even have a coach who can get them "up" for a game....

There is also a legitimate chance that we:
lose to A&M.
The team plays uninspired/defeated..
some recruits jump ship.
We start next season ranked on the fringe of the top 25.
Lose to Wisconsin, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Florida before playing bama..

Who knows.. I like your scenario a lot better though.
