Ah, frick it. I am sick of this pissing contest. LSU and USC both suffered inexcusable performances.
Bottom like that one was close, but the waaaaay worse team won and never even fell behind. The other one was a blowout, but the teams were more evenly matched in talent and should have at least been competitive longer than that stretch coming out of halftime.
LSU has a shot back at it if they win out, and so does USC. I just wish LSU's remaining schedule was half as easy as USC's. I don't think LSU can make it unscathed.

Funny thing is that in the unbiased computer polls Oregon St is ranked higher than LSU. At least in some of them.
Dude, are you fricking serious? Unbiased computer polls? Wow. Case closed. Oregon St. would just house LSU.

Computer polls are inherently unbiased. I do seem to remember LSU having tons of problems with Oregon St. last time they played, and it was in Tiger stadium. I am not saying Oregon St. is better, just that in things computers factor in like record and SOS (Oregon St. #2 overall) that the Beavers rank higher. They have played 3 top 12 teams.

That adds up to about as much as the last time LSU and USC met in L.A. I'm not saying the same shite over and over again so just refer to the top of this page. I resign from this argument.

We can hate on USC all we want.
But personally I'd rather lose to an unranked team by 6 points and beat a top 5 team at the time, who is still top 10, or close to it, as opposed to losing by 30 points to the 11th ranked team with no good wins to show for it.

Here Here...They need to schedule more ranked opponents every year, but i guess that isn't ever feasible, because they play in the weak10. They have however scheduled a few ranked non-conference opponents lately, but not many at all.

it.
I can understand what your saying when you look at it like that, and that sounds logical, however we are basically only talking about their loss to an unranked team on their own field and our loss to a top ranked team on their field, and trying to simply compare the two with everyone's opinion.

But your initial post says you disagree with them being ranked ahead of us. In order to determine rankings, you gotta factor in the wins and the losses.
That is why, as of now, i'd put USC ahead, but if both teams keep winning, after we would beat UGA and Bama, I can't see how anyone would have USC ahead of LSU, at that point.

I understand that, but i just don't agree with the polls dropping us nine spots when we lose to the #11 ranked team in the nation at the time, and USUCK ONLY dropping nine spots when losing to an unranked team on the unranked teams field and Missouri eight spots for losing to the # 17 ranked team. We lose on the road to the #11 team and we fall just as many spots as USC did when they lost to an unranked team and we fell more spots than Mizzou did when they lost to a #17 team, and one can say, (not necessarily me) that the pollster's are basing it more on wins instead of losses, or one can make a claim that the polls base it more on losses, all i know is they are not seriously or heavily basing it on the ranking of the opposing teams that each team lost to, instead of perhaps margin of victory or margin of loss.......then perhaps we wouldn't have fallen as far as we did, when some higher ranked teams have lost to teams lower ranked than Florida was(i.e. #2/3 Missouri losing to #17 OK. State) and one team(USUSCK) even lost to an unranked team and neither one of them fell in the polls as bad as we did. Some people can agree that the pollster's are looking more at margin of loss/margin of win, instead of just win/loss, when ranking teams. For example, if we would have lost to Florida by 1 point in regulation or 3 or 6 in overtime, i doubt any pollster would have placed us as the 13th or 14th ranked team in the nation, we may would have still been in the top ten or perhaps no worse than 11th or 12th. That is why i feel they are basing it more on the margin of the win or loss instead of just the win or loss itself without counting in or factoring in the final score. I am sure a small few may feel this is a meaningless thread but i am sure alot of people can understand how i feel and what i am saying.

Well it's time for the USC game! Are the tigers up for it? Maybe? LSU 27 USC 21

These same polls you are complaining about this year helped us last year and will help us again this year IF we can win out.

Perhaps there should be a stickied thread each day, entitled "USC Trojans".

Isn't being a college football fan in California like being an ice hockey fan here? I mean, when was the last time the Collusium was full?
Majority of people there could give a shite about USC. Only a hot topic as long as their winning MNCs. Otherwise, its surfing and making porno movies.
