D : 9-3 with losses at Clemson, at Alabama, and 1 other one that we probably shouldn't drop

This is what will be our undoing. Whether it's Sloan calling the plays or Kelly himself, it leaves a lot to be desired. There's no consistency or imagination. Kelly isn't going anywhere, but Sloan should be demoted or shown the door.

Many more teams won’t improve or will remain stagnant than improve via the portal.

Look, just bookmark my comment and move on. We will find out next season

D. Kelly will drop the season opener and then lose one or two games that we shouldn't. ~$30M buyout negotiated after season end.

Considering Baker is the highest paid DC in the NCAA, he better be able to figure it out.
Another loss in the opener - D.
Win the opener, Nuss balls out and no injuries = C.
BK has shown for decades that he is not winning the big one so we will be lucky to even make the playoffs. That assumes another 3 - 5 players in the portal that actually contribute on the field.

I'd love to see LSU pull the plug on Kelly if he misses the playoffs again next season, but I don't think it happens. Even if we can negotiate his buyout, who do we go after to replace him? LSU won't open the wallet for a big time coach, so it will have to be one who's up and coming, but who?

Cignetti (Indiana), Dillingham (Arizona State), GJ Kinne (Texas State), Chris Klienman (K State), Jon Sumerall (Tulane)

There’s plenty of good candidates to choose from. You don’t have to shoot for the overpriced P4 guy (if you dislike Kelly…this is him).

I think a realistic candidate is Ohio State’s Ryan Day. If he leaves for the NFL…give him whatever he wants to return to college at LSU.

PSA: Although I am underwhelmed by BK and the football team’s performance, I am not on the fire Kelly bandwagon yet. I still believe Kelly can lead the team to a national championship title.

We need to begin with a easy game, not playing a mini dynasty powerhouse with 2 recent NCs in their home turf....when their fan base will be all ready to go.

dddd Same ole high school offense.. No creativity. LSU is very predictable. Easy to prepare for... Not much on adjustments either...
