I'm not going to summarize the whole thing, but a few things that stood out.

1.) RPI is currently at #26 with #6 strength of schedule

2.) He says that Gio sat for precautionary reasons, with the lingering hamstring issues.

3.) Hellmers will start tomorrow but he wants to see Millas, Coleman, Brooks Rice, Zach Murray, and (he had to look in his binder to find) Alex Brady.

One of these is not like the others.

I mean, frick this dude.

I'm going from moderate apathy for him as HC to outright rebellion.

RPI will not help much just because you played a lot of really good teams but couldn't beat them

This was the reason the last time LSU was left out with a decent SOS and RPI and they still got left out

Can't wait to hear about all the talent Trapper Keeper has in practice and how he can't wait to get him into a game!

3-9 in SEC and a RPI of 26? All of those midweek wins must matter.

Interesting

Jacques Doucet Twitter

#LSU Paul Mainieri says he and Eddie Smith tweaked Cade Beloso's batting mechanics a couple of week's ago and to Beloso's credit, he stuck with it. Mainieri praises Beloso and what a difference he makes, when he's hitting and driving in runs.

#LSU Paul Mainieri says they'll make a decision at 9:30/10 AM Tuesday, whether or not the Tigers will play Grambling that night. Grambling set to leave on bus from Ruston around 10:45 am. The weather is the factor.

#LSU Paul Mainieri says Will Hellmers will start Tuesday against Grambling, weather permitting.

#LSU Paul Mainieri says Jordan Thompson is really deserving of SEC Co-Freshman of the Week. Mainieri points out Thompson only has 5 errors in 32 games, something Mainieri wouldn't have believed two months ago.

Nobody has asked that question but he sounds satisfied with how Money pitched. He will approach next weekend the same - use who he needs on Thurs and Fri then pitch whoever's left on Sunday. Nobody has asked why Hellmers didn't pitch at all, either, but he sounded happy with how Hasty and Fowler pitched - he said the error by Thompson changed the game (which leads me to believe that he felt like it was useless to bring Hellmers in at that point).

For some perspective
2011 LSU started out 16-1 with non conf sweeps of Wake Forest and CSF Titans (CSF was ranked at end of year)

SEC play (ranked teams with * at end of year)
Fla 0-3 *
UGA 1-2
Ole Miss 2-1
Ark 0-3 *
Auburn 1-2
Vandy 0-3 *
UK 3-0
Bama 1-2
Tenn 3-0
MSU 2-1 *

did not make sec tourney that year

He was always a glove first player. Him hitting close to .300 is the surprise. We knew he'd be fine in the field but it would take a little bit for his bat to come around.

This is a strange statement and it's almost like he's trying to lean into the criticism that he doesn't see these guys until they get on campus.

His line was not fully indicative of how he pitched. He made like 2 or 3 mistakes. They just all happened to get taken advantage of. He also seems to have a short memory on giving up HRs and a lot of times will strike a guy out later in the same inning.

I think Money can be very good in the future.

Starting Money was a reasonable decision.

Not going to Hellmers at some point with the game within reach was inexcusable.

If PM didn't explain that, shame on him. If the media didn't ask that question directly enough that he was required to answer it, shame on the media.

Same.

SoCal shortstop that fits right in with the old Long Beach State Dirtbag types.
