E told us to F off and went to Clemson who had been heavy on him the entire cycle if I remember correctly.

Clemson did not even enter the picture until about the last two weeks before NSD. We had slowplayed him waiting on Cam Akers and there were people actually saying he was coming to LSU up to NSD.

Damyeune Craig fricked that up and CEO fired him the very next day after NSD along with Jabbar Jaluke. We lost Akers and Marvin Wilson on NSD surprises.

Ed was the coach and Damien Craig was fired over dropping the ball on him and Steven Guidry now at Miss St..

[quote]He is the 2nd best back in the country. He is an awesome player,

I would take Vaughn (Vandy RB) before Etienne.

Why is it stupid? Smith has played well for 3 years and has got multiple game winners for bama including against Georgia 2 years ago to win the natty

So if a player leaves the state it’s mismanagment?

Out of state guys coming to LSU is mismanagment by someone else I suppose.

It’s never ending purple colored glasses around here.

I am not a program insider. I don't really follow recruiting that much until signing day. But the Etienne family and he wanted out of La. He knew he was lower on the LSU board and that did hurt his pride, but he was not staying in La is what I have been told by folks close to him.

Les Miles didn’t want him. Too small for his prototype

Given Miles' track record, chances are he would've made up for it had he been allowed to finish his class.

You can call him a shite coach if you want but you just look foolish if you imply that he didn't keep the RB cupboard stocked as well as anyone. You can't sign everyone.

Les Miles happened. That’s it. Same with Dak Prescott

Always easy to cherry pick and retroactively poin out the few who get away. How about you give us the long list of major programs who were aggresively recruiting prescott and Etienne.

Smith is a beast and you know it. There’s a reason we recruited him hard. You don’t score 5 touchdowns in a game and be average. He’s a beast and looked like a first rounder today

I'm sure you never even heard of him til yesterday. Guy had 3 td's the previous 4 games. Probably 3rd best WR on the team. Don't suck the guys dick off the results of one game. I'm fine with our WRs. And ours wanted to play for LSU, unlike Smith.

He should have did as he always had done; defer to the local kid. They treated him right

Perhaps he realized that he could be the featured back at a program producing championships as opposed to running back by committee at LSU

How so. Les Miles won despite his poor coaching. A competent coach would have won 1 or 2 more championships. He is a blockhead.

If he wanted it that bad they would've had a spot for him.

He wanted to be the priority.
