The pandering is so stupid
People going out of their way to get compliments and feel good comments all for playing a football game

Do you ever say "thank you for your service". I've always felt awkward hearing it, but it makes the person saying it feel better i guess.

scheduling an opponent is pandering? showing respect for people who are sacrificing themselves for you is pandering?
This is the first time we've played a service academy since 1931. I think that's kind of pathetic for a university that was originally a military academy, but whatever floats your boat bud

Army's A.D. was on SEC Morning & among many great things he talked about was how thin his athletic budget was (not complaining, just commenting ), for all 30 sports. I have no problem in giving either of the 3 service academies the pay out they would get from playing LSU.

It’s really media driven
Scone ends an interview with monken yesterday saying “well bud I think it’s going to be the first time folks in TS cheer an opponent “ That’s some patronizing shite there

Air Force is really really solid this year, and seriously might run the table.
There is nothing wrong with playing a service academy team. There's nothing wrong with people genuinely caring for others who serve their country.
Just because you don't understand it or do it yourself you shouldn't knock others. To some of you it sounds like pandering b/c that's your view of the world.

they should be treated like any other opponent.

I'm asking you a question. What have they sacrificed? Some of my best memories are watching the Army/Navy game with West Point and Annapolis grads while overseas.

So them signing a contract with the Army to serve doesn't matter because they haven't been deployed yet? Are these the types of mental gymnastics you want to get into? Really?

Sounds like most LSU fans want them to sacrifice the Tiger Stadium experience.
These dudes dont want pandering.

that's not a mental gymnastic. they deferred serving their country four years. why not just join out of high school if they're that passionate?
answer is simple. they're college students. They will sacrifice in the future, but right now they wake up early and go to bed late.

correct. sanitized TS is not what these guys want to play in.

I think the Army players would rather be booed and jeered at like any other opponent. They aren't a bunch of pussies who need to be pandered to and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't love the red carpet.

It doesn't. No veteran gives a frick about people saying that and many get annoyed. The only people it makes feel better are the people saying it.
