Heard on sports radio that the #1 seed has never won the NC... haven’t confirmed it but if true, that’s crazy.

I am more concerned that if the CFP Committee has gone to this extreme to boost the Big 10 over the SEC, then I hate to see how bad the refs are in either of the playoff games that LSU plays.

For the past couple of weeks, I've been OK with OSU being #1. The only semi-close game they have had was Penn State. They've controlled and rolled on in every other game. We can agree that LSU hasn't controlled on the defensive side of the ball as well as OSU has. But I will say that the offenses they have played have not been as good.
However, if LSU handles business against UGA, I think LSU should jump OSU.
OSU has already beaten Wisconsin badly, so they will win this game handly. But that is expected. But LSU beating UGA is not a foregone conclusion to the media and the public. The country knows OSU will beat Wisc which is ranked lower than UGA and if LSU wins fairly convincingly against UGA, then LSU will jump OSU.
If not, then the committee is biased and is putting much more focus on earlier games than the latter part of the season. If OSU and LSU win this weekend....
OSU would've beaten: 8, 10, 14, 20
LSU would've beaten: 9, 11, 12, 4
LSU will jump OSU if they take UGA.

#1 seed has the advantage of basically having a bye while the #2 has to battle against the defending national champions then play the #1 team. I haven't complained about rankings but to pretend it doesn't matter is ridiculous.

If we have to tip-toe through the CFP, then it detracts from the legitimacy of the Championship. Bring on ALL challengers any day of the week. If you really are a Champion, all this jockeying for position has no practical value.

BlackHelicopterPilot, completely agree! I don’t know why the Committee doesn’t just say that. Quit with all of this nonsense and just say you think OSU is better than LSU. What is happening is that they are creating problems due to them saying one thing one week and then something completely different another week. I don’t know why we couldn’t just go to a 4 team playoff and still use the BCS rankings. It takes this component completely out of the picture! A great example of the hipocrisy is Bama. The week after losing AT HOME to us in a game that they were down by over 20 points in, they moved from #3 to #5. A few weeks later, they lose a game that they were winning most of the game by 3 points to the number #15 team and move from 5 to 12! Also, Michigan loses AT HOME by 29 points and moves from 13 to 14! How do either of those make any sense?

This is true. The #1 seed in the final rankings has yet to win the Championship.
It is also true that the #3 seed in the first CFP rankings has never made the playoff. I noted that this year when Bama was ranked #3 and got downvoted with multiple people telling me that “shite means nothing”.
I’ll go with whatever kind of weird playoff ranking curse we have going on here. Maybe we should be happy at #2.
