3rd & 10 pass to Clyde in the flat against Bama where he drug Diggs five yards for a first down really stood out to me.

I wish I could inject this play into my veins. It was my favorite play all year and is a microcosm of the effort and refuse to lose this team showed all year.

Bama has the perfect defense called. Free blitzer forced Joe to get rid of it quick and inaccurate Clyde catches it off his shoe tops and Diggs is still right there to stop the play for 5 yards to force 4th down and a 47 yard field goal. Clyde does a slight stutter step then puts his shoulder down and drives for the first never giving up. It was a 6 point game at that point and on long field goal on a big spot for a freshman kicker.

That was the most iconic and most important play of our season.

Also important to note, like you touched, a Bama guy had a running start and clear path right up the middle on Burrow right off the snap. It was insane for Burrow to even be able to get the pass there and obviously equally insane for CEH to be able to finish the play off for the 1st down.

And the point of the game that happened, we just didn't have a bigger play all season IMO.

rewatched that game and CEH was the MVP of that game with Burrow right behind him.
Saban admitted that he put the game in Clyde's hands.
Clyde delivered.

Jefferson catching the inside kick against Alabama. We couldn't stop Tua at that point.

I don’t know if this play kept LSU undefeated but the first touchdown by Chase against Bama on the opening drive showed both Bama and the world this team was different.

We got the ball at the 8 when the magic pineapple dropped the ball in the face of a valiant LSU pass rush and Joe drove the ball down their throats in six plays ending in a perfect back shoulder throw that proved this team was there to win and was not scared of the big bad Bama Tide.
To me that play and drive was pivotal.

I don’t remember the score at the time, but Stingleys end zone pic vs Florida basically ended that game

The score was 35-28, and that interception ended the only drive all year where an opponent had the ball with a chance to tie or take a lead in the 4th quarter.

Defense recovering the fumble on Bama's first drive after they were rolling down the field.

I always think of the interception the was a tipped ball that Texas got and we tackled him before he scored inside the five I think. We held them on fourth down after that to keep from scoring. If they score there it’s a different game. Defense stood up early in the season.

Yep,

we forget about it, but those first half defensive stands against Texas made a HUGE difference in that game, and that game made a HUGE difference in the season.

I bet Herman regrets those 4th downs now.

Also, the 2 minute drill.
With 2 minutes or less in the first half, LSU outscores:
Ga Southern 7-0 (TD with 58 secs left)
Texas 10-0 (FG with 1:41, TD with 47 sec)
Miss St 7-0 (score with 50 sec)
Auburn 3-0 (FG with 33 sec)
Alabama 14-0 (TD with 26 sec, another with 6 sec)
Ole Miss 3-0 (FG with 5 sec)
Arkansas 7-0 (TD with 14 sec)
Oklahoma 7-0 (TD with 50 sec left)
Clemson 7-0 (TD with 10 sec left).

The Vandy game was 7-7 in last two minutes, the Florida game was Florida 0-7 (that's the single time we faltered),
UGA we got a FG with 2:22 left (was 0-0 final 2 minutes).

Look at how many scores we got with under a minute, and how many are TDs. Opponent thinks they can make it to halftime and adjust, and we change the game just before that happens. You could honestly say that sealed the Texas and Bama games, and seriously changed the Clemson game.
