Players that sit out of bowl games should have to pay back all the scholarship money in addition to any other resources the university spent on them. I get that they can make the decision to sit out, but they are also quitting on the team and university that invested a lot of resources in them.

I also realize that it isn’t a lot of money compared to what they will make.

What do you do when there is a bit of a grey area? Fournette had a lingering injury all year when he decided to sit out.

So what credit do you give them for games played? He played 12 of 13 games, so he owes LSU 7% of his scholarship money back???

That would be a great selling point for new recruits.

Do you baws want to go d3 and do it for love or want top notch program?

It is really that simple

Fiesta is fun but meaningless in Grand scheme

We are championship or bust and all that comes with it or we should go FCS

Have you ever offered to back back money that you were paid by an employer after quiting a job? Do you think a player is entitled to worker's compendsation or disability if he is injured during the course of training, practicing or competing for his university? Don't be stupid.

This is so dumb. The coaching staff probably endorses this. They understand that Greedy will lose millions of dollars if he gets hurt in this glorified exhibition.

If you are hurt, you are hurt. That is a big difference.

I’m not saying they don’t have the right to sit out or that they shouldn’t, I am just saying that they failed to meet contractual obligations of the scholarship.

This is ignorant. The only ones that are bitching are some fans. The players understand and so do the coaches. They are grown enough to understand that this game is nothing more than a business now.

If scholarship was in where close to the value a star player brings to a program maybe

As it stands in a fair market wr would owe Greedy a million or more

Not even going to lie. These threads where people are being absolutely ridiculous over Greedy's decision about HIS future are pretty hilarious.

Some of y'all are nuts.

Why? Do you have any idea what they sacrifice to earn their scholarship and how much money the school makes? They have meetings, practice, weight room/training, games and they lay it all on the line, including the prospect of injury or disability.

They are not servants.
