Just wondering? Could it be that the problem with LSU's pitching may be the catcher? Don't know if Gibbs calls the pitches or not, but he does represent something of a common denominator. This question is not meant to be a critique on Gibbs. His bat has been steady, and he is a great team player.

Nothing wrong with LSU pitching. Just in a funk. It happens.

LSU catchers usually don't, but Kyle Peterson said in last weekend's broadcast that Gibbs is one of very few catchers in college baseball that does call his own pitches.

I'm pretty sure Micah calls the pitches but it doesn't help when pitchers throw it belt high when he calls for it low and away. Has happened a lot this year. Just watch his glove.

Usually only when the pitcher shakes off the first pitch.

nah. You can see him look to the dugout, get the signal, check his armband, and then give the signal to the pitcher.

yea the issue seems to be more about the pitchers missing their spots with those pitches not necessarily the pitch calling.

Your prlly right I mean he is only the first catcher projected to go in the draft, as well as our starting catcher the last two Omaha seasons.

FYI In college 9 time out of 10 those are called shake offs. You do not see college pitchers shake off legitimately very often. Also Gibbs usually does call a majority of the game.

Oh yeah forgot to mention, this is one of the dumbest threads I have seen yet relating to baseball.

the coaches call the majority of the pitches and to think that gibbs isn't a good game manager at catcher is crazy he is one of the best.

Pretty sure he does. I've heard it mentioned on multiple occasions.
