The only day it appears the wind will be blowing out is tomorrow, lol.

In this park, if wind were blowing in, I'm likely pitching Cowan and letting our D take us home.

A lot of this will depend on how we are hitting. If we can get up in the score early he may be willing to take a chance with some of these "questionable" pitchers.

I just think Cowan needs to trust his fastball more
It's a decent fastball and if he gets back to his command earlier in season he's a perfect pitcher for this park

I feel funny saying that because until recently throwing strikes wasn’t an issue for him.

When he was at his best, he was also getting a lot of swing and miss on off speed pitches that would drop out of the zone. Teams started taking more and sitting on the breaking ball and he started leaving them up too often.

That said, he had a clutch close in one of our regular season wins vs Arkansas, so he’s seen them and done ok.

Shores has been super efficient. I think he’ll come in late tomorrow too. Would like to save him for championship but you can’t take too many risks with lower end pen guys

Win tomorrow and you have two full days off for everyone. You can throw shores and even extend him up to about 50-60 and still have him good for the championship series

I think this park blowing in, will help Cowan trust his fastball

Absolutely. Much like today, when we're hitting it takes alot of pressure off and makes decisions alot easier.

It really does suck using three starters to win two games
there’s a silver lining to Eyanson/Evans lighter work if we can get the W without them tomorrow. They’ll be able to go til their arm falls off in the championship series as long as they’re dealing

Cooper Williams only threw 21 pitches today. He can give us quality innings tomorrow night. He's the team ERA leader.

Another guy I’m not seeing anyone mention, and I don’t know if he’s with the team in Omaha (I assume he is), is Fontenot. He seemed to be solid in his last few outings for us. Could he be a possibility for an inning or so today?

Jay will want to save Anderson and Eyanson for the championship series this weekend UNLESS we are forced to an if necessary game on Thursday (then it’s all hands on deck)

Agreed, but I think Eyanson is most available. Might even see him late tonight if LSU has a lead

I put this thread together yesterday morning but with Arkansas being in as good of shape as they can be after 3 games the only pitchers I think we wouldn’t throw today now are Kade and Evans. Kade would be saved for an if necessary start tomorrow and Evans has thrown in both games and 68 pitches yesterday.

Even with Eyanson and Williams throwing in game 2 there’s nothing holding Jay back from going to them today to scratch across a few innings if they’re needed. Won’t be looking to save either of them until tomorrow night but if they don’t go today I’d expect to see them tomorrow

I think I saw him on TV at one point. I don't know if he's on the roster though.

But I agree. He flashed enough in his last couple outings that I would trust him to grab a few outs if needed.

And he flashed enough in those couple outings that I'm hoping he's in the plans for us for next year.
