Tennessee has a bye-week advantage when they play LSU so according to Phil Steele that gives the vols a 3-4 point edge over the Tigers.

Vols are favored to beat LSU in Tiger Stadium; they have a bye week before LSU, whereas the Tigers have a bruising road game at Auburn.

In some years in the not too distant past, he would’ve been correct.

Wait this is legit? He seriously said that?
In the write up I posted for this year on the 1st page of responses you can see what he thought of that 2019 team when discussing 2022.
In 2019, LSU beat seven Top 10 teams with one of the best teams in College Football History at 15-0.

If everyone ignored the bastard, he would dissolve into oblivion.

I've never seen or heard this guy. I only see his name thrown around on here. Seems like a cuck.

Welp.
May as well pack it in for this year...
What does Phil say about 2023-24? Can we come out and play then?

This is truly bizarre, considering that:
*LSU will have one of the best D-lines and front 7s in the SEC, if not the country.
*LSU has THREE returning QBs with starting experience, one who is practically a fast RB, one who lit up 2020 until he hurt his hip, and a 3rd who has filled in as a starter and shown great potential. Not to mention maybe the top HS QB in the country probably redshirting in '22
*LSU is absofrickinglutely LOADED at WR and RB. Loaded.
*Brian Kelly. We know he can coach and win in D1 and P5, now we see he can recruit too.
The only question marks are:
* The O-line and TE
* DBs
* Kicking, punting - Special Teams
* New coaching staff, new system, first year org.
Admittedly, those are big question marks. However, LSU has gotten some experienced transfers in for those positions to go with a few returnees, and has highly-ranked kickers coming in.
I realize these are PRESEASON rankings, but I don't see how you can rate this team below #30 based on their returning talent, even in the preseason. I believe this team is going to surprise some people.
My prediction is 8-4 and a medium bowl, but hopefully better.
