More evidence that Nuss is the worst QB of all time

Slightly above Jordan Jefferson, Brandon Harris, and that other QB we had when Harris was here.

And so many times multiple receivers in the same air space (congregated about 6-7 yards between the right hash and sideline). No wonder we are easy to defend.
you saw it multiple times last night. Nuss is so late that the routes break down. A second prior they were 15 yards apart. But Nuss misses the open guy. It’s infuriating. Now, why is Nuss playing, that’s a better coaching point to
Make.

I doubt you could.

I know on the play we were and are all still talking about he had a nice pocket to step up in, even the Gump color guy blamed Nuss and gave no credit to the Gump defender for the sack.

And as I pointed out yesterday the third down right before the half was a very critical play. He had all day to throw and same Gump announcer pointed out two guys running wide open and said it was hard to believe Nuss didn't see either of them. We keep that drive alive Bama almost certainly doesn't get that score right before the half and we go in half down 10-3 not 17-3. Pretty critical play.

Until then I’m not going to criticize what he did last night.

I'm not really trying to; it is just that I have seen this before. I recall Brandon was gonna be our savior, then it was maybe Ettling. I recall people pumping up Justin McMillan. Later, it was Max Johnson, TJ Findley, and Walker Howard.

My point isn't to dog MVB but to say that his performance in this game was not stellar, nor was he as successful as Nuss in this game at getting us in scoring position or scoring touchdowns.

That doesn't mean he won't be better or more successful, nor that I would think it bad for him to start the next game. Just that he wasn't clearly the best QB in this game. He clearly presented more of a challenge for Alabama's game plan on defense. Would that be the case had they primarily prepared for him? Perhaps we will see in the next game.

I think MVB has the potential to be a very good QB for LSU.

No Doubt he had plenty of time and sat back there holding the ball on several plays and missing guys running wide open.

Fair to say Hilton has been disappointing but Barion Brown and Trey’dez Green should be getting multiple targets beyond 25 yds in every game plan

MVB wasn't awe-inspiring, but he did have I believe 3 drops. If this wasn't happening his numbers would have been quite good.

PFF is wrong. The $3 million man had to run backwards and spin around like a ballerina to have any time

If Green catches that perfect throw then all you people would be talking about is how good MVB looked. He’s the started from here on out

Maybe. Also not very hard to get a good pass blocking grade when you only have to hold a block for one second so I guess it goes both ways huh

He turns his back to the play like he’s Vick in ‘03 and can just out run the edge rusher. He gets pressured a lot and is scared to get hit so when he can actually just step up into a pocket he is already thinking “avoid the big one.”

I am not arguing that point and what ifs like that typically happen to every QB, even Nuss has had a few this season, though not this game.

This is all I was trying to get at, all along.

He may end up being great. He is not yet.

So, give him a chance. Great never materializes right away.

Watched the highlights and Nuss had the TD on the almost intercepted end zone throw. Instead due to his poor mechanics he essentially short arms the throw and the LB has time to get a hand on it.

Where I get back to questioning what Nuss does well as a player this season. (Specifying this season for the BUT HE THREW FOR 4000 YARDS LAST YEAR crowd).

Mobility - Below Average
Vision - Below Average
Pocket Presence - Below Average
Decision Making - Average
Arm Strength - Average

Positive note, credit to Ory Williams for coming in and locking down Right Tackle.

No issues there either, I'm not willing to pile on Nuss. Honestly, I can't remember you really doing that either.

I appreciate Nuss, but he has not looked the same to me as last season; part of that is the O-line, but not all of it. It is time for a change, I think.

If MVB has a flop of a game, though, this place will turn on him as well. It is what tRant is nowadays. Has been that for a bit, too.

This might be one of the most impactful plays of the game. A completion or taking the sack and Alabama with no timeouts probably doesn't have time to score a TD.
