After the Mississippi State game, many posters identified things that he would have to fix. It looked like he had terrible fundamentals and indecisiveness. It turns out the people that said it was first game jitters and inexperience were correct. If he plays like he did against Mizzou, LSU beats Mississippi State.

He was better in the 2nd half of the State game, but he was very tentative and his hesitation lead him to being late on throws and missing reads. The offensive staff did a really good job of drilling him on the mistakes and problems and fixing them. He’s looked much more comfortable and decisive the last two games. You have to give credit to someone who does the work and improves their game so quickly.

I think the #1 SEC QB is the composite of “Whoever is throwing against LSU’s secondary this week”.

This isn't that far of base. The ONLY reason Brennan is second in yards per game is because Costello had the luxury of playing against the LSU defense in a real game.

I'm beginning to think that the reason Brennan struggled in the first half vs. MSU is not because of first start jitters. It was because he, unbeknownst to all of us, spent the entire preseason camp playing against one of (maybe the worst) pass defenses in the SEC. It took some time to adjust to a pass defense that could provide some resistance.

Scary thing is he actually get better every week. Sky the limit for him

This is true. His first start was very shaky. Since then he has improved significantly each game. Can't ask for any more than that.

Overall I've been happy with him. He's made some bad throws but not a ridiculous amount. He has the unfortunate problem of following the greatest season by a college QB ever so by comparison he looks poor. If the OL gave him consistent time, he'd be even better; when he has time to throw he's been very good.

You must be one of those that said he wasn't going to be any good.

This doesn't shock or surprise me. I had his totals before covid reduced games at over 4000 pass yards and 35+ TDs. Even with the 10 game schedule i had 300+ pass yards and 3+ TDs because i believed in him, the offensive playcalling, and the pass catchers. Week one shocked me a lot, but I settled down before the next game realizing that even though he has been in the program for a long time, starting your first game is still starting your first game.
