Waiting on the tards that said Campbell got owned by Jackson and Ryan hasn’t improved to show up.
Hats off to Sage and Major. Those two are playing the best ball of their careers by far right now.

Still think he has a bright future for us and this is part of growing pains as a 1st year starter but yea the penalties absolutely have to stop it’s killing us
At his size, you have to wonder if he would be a better fit at Guard in the future. Then he wouldn’t have to worry about snapping or calling protections and could just play ball

Stamps is not good I keep saying it every week but I guess we have no one else
Meh. It’s not that he isn’t good as much as he isn’t 100% to be in that role as a redshirt freshman. And he really isn’t physically built for that role, either. Neither is Woodland, but they are what we’ve got until next season.
Once we get some real dudes in here next year, Stamps would be much off sliding to Nickle or Dime. Pair him with two elite guys on the outside with a full season of experience and I think he will be just fine.

Stamps is a Sophomore
Only because he was forced out there last season under a bad coach with a broken scheme because he literally ran out of bodies. Do you think last year benefited him any? It probably hurt more than it helped.

Speaking of how do the PFF graders know what a player’s responsibility is on each play, the guy grading the defense when LSU stacked 4 guys vertically in the middle of the field must have wondered what the hell is this?
Didn’t they all blitz?

People forget how terrible the LSU offensive line was in 2020 and 2021.
The starters weren’t that good, but the depth was even worse. Dellinger and Turner were the only players from that group to make an impact after O, and Turner was a weak link as well. Just not as weak as Shannahan was.
The worst part is, every younger guy on the bench those years left except for Kimo, and he’s never played and has now switched positions. None of them went to good programs. Most ended up in the G5. We literally had NOTHING on the OL at the end of O’s tenure. We all know this line still has plenty of flaws, but they have still come a LONG way from that low 3-4 years ago.

Greg Penn, LB – 52.4

We held them to less than 40 yards rushing and he didn’t miss anything there. Maybe it was some of the over the middle passing in zone, but we kind of gave them that be design and kept the WRs hemmed in and tackled well.
after reading up on their grading system, it's not really a negative.
quote:
Each player is given a grade of -2 to +2 in 0.5 increments on a given play with 0 generally being the average or “expected” grade.
The zero grade is important as most plays feature many players doing their job at a reasonable, or expected, level, so not every player on every play needs to earn a positive or a negative.
so basically, he did his job as expected.
he filled a hole he was supposed to fill, made the tackle, etc.
he just didn't do a lot beyond what would be considered a "normal" outcome, so his grade wasn't flashy, but definitely not bad.

Woahh easy on woodland now that kid is dog. IMO he will be a nickel for us when the 2025 cb studs get here and he’ll be a damn good one. That kid is twitchy as hell and has good speed I am excited for his future

here is them breaking it down a little (using NFL sacks as an example).
quote:
Not all sacks are created equal
Vic Beasley sacked the quarterback 16 times, but eight of those sixteen were either unblocked or clean-up sacks that owed more to somebody else flushing the quarterback towards where Beasley was than they did to him beating a blocker to make the play. PFF grading takes into account the quality of the play made to get the sack, and excellent plays to defeat blocks will be graded higher than sacks where the quarterback just happened to be flushed past a player as he was being blocked only to get taken down.
so Penn gets neutral or positive scores for plugging up the run game and making his tackles, etc.
but won't be graded as highly for a typical tackle where the play comes his direction as if he fought through a double team, or just tossed a blocker aside to get to the ball carrier for the tackle.

This board wants him to be elite so bad. I do think he continues to get better but calling him good is a stretch. Elite is laughable.

Josh hasn’t looked his best so far this year. Is there some kind of an undisclosed injury?

lol he’s a sophomore regardless
You can’t use your own metric to call him a rsFR when he’s a damn sophomore dude

Ha Ha Emery Jones voted SEC offensive lineman of the week.

This is pretty consistent.
I don’t think Dellinger is great at LG either. I wonder if moving him to C would be an option.
