re: PFF doesn’t have Jefferson in the top 10 WRs coming out

Chase to me a step better but a guy who runs the routes Jefferson does has a very nice use in the NFL.
Chase isn’t just “a step better”. Chase is faster and stronger. A guy like CeeDee Lamb can manhandle defensive backs. Even when he’s covered he’s not. A receiver like Jeudy has speed and quickness that makes him uncoverable except by the very best corners.
Chase has both speed and power. He cannot be covered except by the elite corners, and even when he’s covered he can muscle them around like Lamb does.
Jefferson has none of this. He’s fairly quick and elusive, but not enough to beat any NFL team’s #1 corner. He has decent speed, but not enough to separate in the NFL. And he does not have the power to muscle his way open in the NFL. Jefferson is a guy who will be used in the NFL similar to how LSU used him. The number one WR will draw the special attention, and Jefferson will thrive in the created space. That’s a WR2.
I’d bet Jefferson is easily in the top 10 receivers. It wouldn’t surprise me if he went as high as the sixth one taken. But he’s not a WR1 in the NFL.

If you stat junkies can’t see the difference between Justin Jefferson & Jerry Juedy from an NFL prospect standpoint, I don’t think anyone can help pull your head out of your arse.
But hey, that’s why you get paid the big bucks analyzing nfl prospects while these nfl scouts sit on a message board all day.
Lol you sound like the same morons that sucked up to Calvin Ridley and downplay guys like DJ Chark. Kinda funny how Chark (pro bowl) had a better season than Ridley while Rildey had the better QB by a billion miles, and the better team as a whole.
Some fool back in November had 3 Alabama WRs in his top 5 draft WRs for 2020. I saw multiple that had 3 in their top 6-7. The only thing Jeudy has over Jefferson is speed. That's it, nothing else. Justin plays multiple positions, great route runner, elite agility, can get open, makes plays in the open field, is tough, and shows excellent strength for a WR, and especially at his size.

The question is what value will teams place on a Top WR 2, that will compete for time from Day 1. What else might teams be looking for late 1st? It's a weak OL and Pass Rusher class.
Well, teams will want to gobble up the best players at thin positions.
At WR, they will just say, “oh, well we can just get one later”.
It’s all about value. Why get Jefferson in the 1st when you can get a similar player in the 4th?

Lol you are making his point for him

Dude get the frick out. They all had seasons with great QBs. Ever consider maybe Burrow had some of his numbers because he was throwing to a guy like Jefferson?
Jefferson was the second best WR on a squad with AT LEAST 3 ridiculous targets and still put up numbers
When the routes are covered, and the seconds are ticking off, Jefferson has an uncanny talent for finding an open spot in the defense. Time after time after time.

Latest CBS Sports mock draft has Jefferson going 30th to Green Bay.
On that note 2/3 of the CBS writers have Jefferson late 1st round. They have him as the #7 composite WR Prospect, but the 5th or 6th WR drafted.

PFF whiffed on their bogus list. The draft is less than 2 months away. Money talks.
Jefferson put up his 2019 numbers against one of the toughest schedules ever. And with 4 other LSU receivers getting high numbers of targets.
Again...
Jefferson Head-to-Head against playoff caliber (or elite) competition...
Bama - 7 rec; 79 yards; 0 TD
Okies - 14 rec; 227 yards; 4 TDs
Clemson - 9 rec; 106 yards; 0 TD
Juedy, Ruggs, Lamb, Higgins against LSU:
Juedy - 5 rec, 71 yards, 1 TD
Ruggs - 3 rec, 68 yards, 0 TD
Lamb - 4 rec, 119 yards, 0 TD
Higgins - 3 rec, 52 yards, 0
Average per game (against LSU) Juedy, Ruggs, Lamb, Higgins:
3.8 rec; 77.5 yards; .25 TD
Jefferson average against Bama, OK, Clemson:
10 rec. 137 yards, 1.25 TDs
BTW, Tua, Hurts, and Lawrence have all been invited to the Heisman ceremonies at one time or another - these aren't Juco QBs

So do you think Jefferson goes ahead of those guys in the draft?
Posted on 1/31/20 at 11:41 am to Lester Earl
Ahead of? No idea. But he is certainly in the conversation with those guys (and kicked their arse head-to-head in production - when it mattered). Depends on the needs of the teams as they run through the draft.
Jefferson turned 21 a few weeks ago. Has put on almost 20 pounds in the past 3 years. He'll probably put on 10-15 pounds or so in the next couple years.
I see him as a late first, high second round pick. That should get him paid nicely and into a rotation fairly fast.
