Petition for NO FIREWORKS when Mike VII arrives!!

Seriously, how stupid is it to set off huge pyrotechnics near a big cat & expect that cat to be cool with it? We all love seeing Mike in his trailer at games & the fireworks is what freaked him out. So please ,LSU administration, STOP the firework show. It adds nothing & isn't some sort of tradition that should supersede Mike in his trailer. IMO it's lame anyway. What says the Rant?

There's probably a fireworks guy making some serious dough. Plus it looks good on TV. Best of luck getting that shite changed.

The rant says that fireworks were never utilized when Mike was in the stadium. This is like asking LSU not to launch rockets into space when Mike is around. They won't because they never have before.

If no fireworks = Mike VII coming to the stadium then I am all for it. However, Dr. Baker was interviewed a while back and he said that the concerts outside of the PMAC is also a contributing factor. Doubtful that LSU will get rid of those as well.

fireworks are a recent development, like canned music during the game....
get rid of both, but I'd be happy with fireworks as a start....if I wanted to see fireworks at a football game, I'd go to a Saints game!!!

They can move those concerts to another spot in my opinion, I'm more worried about the cat being comfortable then listening to some cover band

(Disclaimer: I googled to find out who was playing) I can honestly say that I have never once been to the whole Tiger One Village thing. So in my opinion they can move the thing anywhere and I would be fine. However, I doubt they will unfortunately.

if you want to get technical, it's a M-120 75mm pack howitzer...it has welds in the tube so it can't fire anything but a blank round...generally there is the full black powder blank and the modified shell base where you can shoot a 10 gauge blank...

There really should be discussions w/in the powers that be. Mike in his trailer is a how many year-old tradition? It needs to be preserved for many generations to see. I've seen post after post about parents bringing their child to see Mike. I've yet to see a post saying the same regarding fireworks. And to the poster who said it looks good on TV, that's a really dumb reason to do it

Make Mike VII walked through a barrage of bottle rockets and Roman candles to get to his food. He will get over any reservations pretty quickly.
