Baseball is an "almost" sport. We almost won that game, he almost made that catch, etc. football is an all or nothing sport, we got our arse kicked by Bama, etc.
In baseball, fans think you have a good team if you go .500, in football if you don't go undefeated or one loss, you got no shot at SEC or NC.
Baseball was invented by slow, white, non athletic guys, so their standards for success are much lower.
wow, basically that entire post is inaccurate

Idk. But I hate our baseball fans slightly less than I hate our football fans.

Explain why Braves fans and MLB people think a .500 baseball team is great and has a good shot at a pennant then. If the Braves win one out of three in a weekend series here, the baseball nerds think it was awesome.

MLB and CBB are not comparable in that respect. And no one thinks a .500 team is great, even in the majors. .500 teams don't make the playoffs. No one thinks a series loss is awesome either

I really don't see how they are that different. There were a ton of guys after the loss to BYU on Saturday talking about how it is such a huge concern and LSU should never lose to an inferior opponent like BYU even though they literally haven't the slightest clue about the abilities of any single player on BYUs team. There was also one guy that said LSU would never make it to Omaha under the tutelage of Javi.

Because fan behavior is conducive to the type of sport. The more violent the sport, the more violent the fans. You'll never see a golf clap in Tiger Stadium

.500 when? After the first month of the season, maybe. No one thinks .500 is great in any sport. Sure, a .500 BA is excellent, while a 50% completion rate is bad, but that's about where it ends.

No one thinks that.

There are a lot of baseball fans who are no longer football fans. They may follow the games but are not diehards. Chalk it up to the race card, whether you want to hear it or not; I hear that all the time from the long time followers of b.ball.

I'd been reading the rant for years before i signed up. Started following in 2008 when i was stuck in the middle of nowhere trying to follow baseball on my crackberry (thanks GMorgan - although i paid a fortune in roaming fees) I love the fact that as hard as they try, and they do try really hard, the hard core tards can't overcome the basic optimism of LSU baseball fans. Those fans who irritate folks when they clap for the other teams' great plays have been attending games for years and years and know a lot more about baseball than the tards who show up on the rant to scream "Bench Dean" (it happened) and other such nonsense when someone has a bad game. Having said that, i don't think when a poster says, "i wonder what would happen if Raph became our DH and so and so was moved to outfield" that they need to be attacked. Why not just say "i think that's a bad idea and here's why"?

It takes a lot more effort to really follow a baseball team with the pace of the game and how many games there are. A casual football fan isn't going to put forth the effort to care that much.
A lot of this
