Pretty sure Kelly has been giving guys a day off here and there. He did just suffer a pretty serious injury.
Yep. He’s been doing load management with anyone coming off an injury or nursing a nagging one like Nuss.

So his surgery was in 2/2025?
NOPE. His surgery is now nearing 11mo ago. Just be accurate. Oh I forgot this is about Perkins, the biggest flop on the LSU team in terms of $$ spent

Supposedly had some family things he needed to deal with according to Ruffino.

Same as Weeks. Veteran starters who were injured last season getting a day off. All there is to it.
The new term is Load Management. The S&C staff are working hard with current technology to reduce soft tissue injury especially in camp

Are they actually doing some live tackling drills? I'm a bit concerned that we avoid that to prevent injuries, and then can't tackle opening week.
I have the same concern. Although we did seem to do better last year compared to the Florida State travesty.

Apparently Hilton was tackled at the scrimmage Saturday, a little shaken up and immediately sat down the rest of the night
Its always a fine line between going full speed to gear up for game 1 and keeping guys healthy

Perkins is a dog, but how anyone can say this after his short season last year, didn’t watch Weeks. The defense got better when Weeks was in. I’m excited to see Weeks and Perk on the field together this year. I just hope they can be full force after both having major injuries. If Weeks is in last season form and Perkins can return to his freshman year production watch out!

He’s playing a different position this year and a freak athlete. Different players but you don’t get a lot of players like Perk

Do we know why Harold Perkins missed the first practice after a full contact scrimmage? Are we concerned?

It takes ordinary humans a year to recover from ACL injury and surgery. So, load management is perfectly appropriate.. if we're being "accurate."
