quote:Some of you are so lazy. The OP quoted Verge saying baseball will get about 5%, only softball and gymnastics will get rev share (outside of the big 4), and the Olympic sports will instead receive more scholarship money.
Baseball is going to be splitting 5% with multiple other teams still, they are just going to get a little more of that 5%.

That adds up to 105%, so I’d like the math too if it were possible

I’m pretty sure he said that as a joke

I agree. LSU is the pinnacle of college baseball and they definitely deserve more than any of the remaining sports after football and basketball.

It's a damn embarrassment women's basketball gets the same money as LSU baseball. Slap in the face to skip bertman and LSU fans

People, the revenue share going to sports is a small fraction of the total amount of money supporting those rosters through NIL. It’s really not a big deal. We’re talking about a few hundred thousand bucks.
I only started the thread because people have been so hung up on the percentage baseball has gotten compared to WBB. Now they are equal.

I like Verge, always have - but it's inevitable in a few years the masses will turn on him and the majority will want him gone. It has happened with every AD in my lifetime, including Skip. It's a pretty thankless job.

But I agree with you the rev share is completely overblown.

Bud read the OP.
They are probably both going to be around 4.5% and the remaining 1% going to Gymnastics and Softball.

I listened to his actual interview
Women’s basketball is staying at 5%
He said the only adjusting would be the “back end 5%”, and how it would be split with less teams going forward because some teams will get supplemented with more scholarships instead
Never once heard Verge put any number on how that will split will go

I listened as well. That quote is accurate. Both will be “about 5%” so that must mean a little is coming off WBB.

Verge is quickly climbing in my all time favorite Athletic Department hires, not sure he can ever pass Skip Bertman but dagummit this dude must read TD because I support every single thing he has done here at LSU.

There are 3 kinds of people in the world:
Those that can do math and those who can't.

Unreal that we piss away so much money on WBB when they lose $7M+ per year.
If you spend more on baseball you would then be losing money

Are the stories true or not about Skip REFUSING to rehire Saban after he bombed out with the Dolphins and wanted back at LSU?
If they are true, that would make Skip a worse AD than Woodturd.
If they aren't true, you might be right about Skip.
