For at least one per The Advocate this morning. That's the most definitive he's been so far

That's means it's prob JJ and he's prob done for year

Sucks. No matter how this washes, the matter has been unfortunate. If JJ's charged with a felony, I don't see how he can expect to play this year. Miles will probably have to sit him even if this is pled down to simple assault.

"Stone has said that arrests are possible, with one person involved in the fight likely to be booked with second-degree battery, a felony offense that carries a five-year prison sentence upon conviction".

Would it come down to whether JJ kicked the guy or just stepped on his head? Would stepping on his head be enough for 2nd degree battery?

Good question.

Sounds like it would be pretty much the same thing.

I don't know enough about La.'s penal code or the facts of this case. I think the charge largely depends upon the severity of the "victim's" injuries.

Lawyers, does La.'s system require a grand jury to return a true bill to indict, or can the prosecutor simply file the complaint?

is there any chance that there are no suspensions coming from this? Or is it just waiting to see how big of a suspension it will be. a few games or off the team?

This is just a bad situation all the way around. The victims, Jefferson, the school, it's really terrible.

Unless there's something to this case that hasn't come out (possible), I'd say the chances are approaching zero. Four guys (at least one) appear to be on the brink of a felony rap. I'm sure they'll plea it down, but the charge itself is pretty frickin serious.

No chance they escape suspension. All four are suspended indefinitely , miles will let the media storm die down, and then maybe the first bye week he'll announce the permanent suspensions or the reinstatements

JJ will sit out this season, use his redshirt, and come back next season as Mett's backup.

If be doesn't play, it's because he's dismissed IMO. Not redshirted.

I think JJ's career as an LSU player is over.

He'll get suspended for the entire season(use his redshirt) and Miles will determine, after the season, if JJ has done enough to warrant reinstatement.

I don't think he has a "redshirt".

He does...he is only 20. The plan was to Redshirt him in 2008 but the QB situation, even though it was better than his rating last year, and the record prompted the coaches to use him the last few games of the year.

What a dumbarse!

Jefferson starting against Ark and in the Chic Fil A bowl burned up his redshirt.

Lee was hurt in the Ole Miss game and JJ replaced him.
