He'll get suspended for the entire season(use his redshirt) and Miles will determine, after the season, if JJ has done enough to warrant reinstatement.
Dear God we could see Mett on the bench for 2 years if this happens.

I only know the rumors but I feel terrible for JJ. Kid has been clean the entire time he was here then this shite. What a disaster.
This is my take. There's enough of the "he'll get what he deserves crowd". It's always extremely tragic to see a young person screw himself like this (if true).
I hope the whole thing turns out to be a stupid bar fight and that Miles just runs them until can't stand up.
That's looking increasingly unlikely.

Severely doubt that.

If the charges stick, he's played his last snap for lsu.

Jefferson starting against Ark and in the Chic Fil A bowl burned up his redshirt.

Probably true.
ETA: NM. He never took a redshirt, so he still has 5 to play 4, right?

Lee was hurt in the Ole Miss game and JJ replaced him.
And he had played against Tulane and Troy before the injury.

This is correct.
No it's not. He'd have one more year of Eligibility.

ETA: @TheDoc, how does he still have a redshirt? I guess I'm not as familiar with the rules as I thought.
Not doc, but he has a redshirt because everyone gets one, and he hasn't used his.

5 years to play 4 typically.

Felony...off the team. It's as simple as that. There's really no wiggle room here.
I'm still fuming from the couple of idiots that were celebrating this fiasco.

So, if he is, does he redshirt and come back next season? How can you guys torture me like this? I thought of this last night and had nightmares about it.

Stop being a douche. There are bigger issues at play than the starting quarterback role. If he actually did what many are accusing him of doing, he's better off pleading this down, getting his degree, and getting on with his life. No point in coming back for a fifth year to deal with more of this nonsense.

Really sad. Who didn't get into a fight at the bar while in college? Sucks if this costs him his senior year at LSU.

For at least one per The Advocate this morning. That's the most definitive he's been so far

Would it come down to whether JJ kicked the guy or just stepped on his head? Would stepping on his head be enough for 2nd degree battery?
Both carry a heavy legal action. The minute someone hies to The ground and gets kicked or stomped its immediately an assault.

The SEC rant's thread mentions that Davenport may be the one charged with the most serious offense, and that there is no confirmed interview tomorrow morning. There's just too much bullshite out there right now.
*I know I'm contributing*.

Yep. It was prob a split second decision clouded (likely) by booze and a semi mob mentality. Sadly will cost him his senior year and us a promising season.
Somehow it seems like Miles thrives with crazy distractions but this mess would be tough for anyone.

Do what? You really don't remember that when Jefferson played in 08, that was the MAIN issue - that he would burn his redshirt?
