I said on another thread that CBK would attempt—and probably succeed—with another home run hire. He’s not going to settle for one of these retreads among the analysts.
If Sean Payton is able to pull our DL coach away during Spring ball, we can damn well do the same to another program. frick how “late” it is. We have the prestige and the money.

Whoever LSU gets they are going to have to spend some pretty heavy $$$.
Yall know the story on Nielsen. He was supposed to be the DC under Orgeron in 2020 after Aranda left for Baylor. O didn't follow correct protocol and make a normal courtesy "Permission" call to Sean "I hate LSU" Payton and the deal fell through because of it.
Payton leaves, Allen takes over and after one season Nielsen leaves for the Falcons. (Where's he's at now)
I'd call him to judge interest and salary requirements.
Make him Co-DC with House and DL Coach.
If he was willing to leave the Saints to come to LSU under lame duck Orgeron, maybe he would be interested in coming to LSU under a much more competent coach in BK.
All the planets would have to align and $$$$$ would have to flow, but I'd give Nielsen an initial "Would you be interested in coming to LSU for big bucks" call to his agent.

I am sad to see JC go, the players seemed to really like him and respect him.
But BK is a consummate professional.
He will make a solid hire, and in short order if I had to guess.
He’s smart and organized, we don’t have O running things on emotion and rah rah anymore.
