Yeah, boy, that's really going out there.

I'd say you could probably lump the rant, all associated boards on this site, all the boards on sites of teams mentioned in our coaching search, and go ahead and throw in the LSU Athletic Department, and all the sports news outlets in there and say nobody knows anything - on most days of any given year - and be pretty accurate.

and was Steele somehow not permitted to do the same?

This is conflicting with a report earlier today that Steele wasn't a "hard candidate." So basically, no one knows anything.

Not getting excited/pissed either way until an announcement is made or it's leaked that candidate X is on campus.

We are doomed if they hire Steele. He got fired by Dabo. That is saying a lot.

Its because jk is a joke and has been trolling the shite out of you guys. Every article he has written this past week is followed up by him coming to TD and laughing at the fan base that is making him money.
This. Fk Kleinpeter, and as much as I like Jimmy D for recruiting, he's is losing credibility by association. TP is looking bad.

Steele is the only real choice. BDP to coach lb's. Others overrated.

Wow, biscuitsngravy, after reading the article that you posted, he will literally die of a heart attack if he comes to LSU. I don't think we want his death on our LSU hands which based on that article could very well happen. Thanks forlinking the article.

same here. how well did Cam know the SEC recruiting grounds after spending the previous 4 years in Baltimore?

I mean, i do get that, ideally, we'd hire some brilliant strategist and technique genius who is also a monster recruiter in the south, but that guy doesn't exist, so what are the real choices?

pure recruiters usually fail. John Blake at OU, for example. he went 12-22 in 3 seasons and was fired in 1998, but his players made up the team Stoops won his only title with in 2000.

pure coaches however tend to do better. here are the rankings of Pattersons recruiting classes at TCU compared to ours:

2014 - 50
2013 - 30
2012 - 37
2011 - 26
2010 - 46

LSU

2014 - 2
2013 - 6
2012 - 18
2011 - 6
2010 - 6

its completely unfair to put so much of the recruiting burden on Wilson, that was reportedly a source for a lot of tension when it came to chavis, so yes we do need a guy who will at least try to recruit, but what is most important?
