We didn't improve. Not to mention we lost two games we shouldn't have.
Still laughing.
Still laughing.

Frankly, all anyone needs to know is that other teams' fans really do love the that O is our coach.
Can you name them? Is it Auburn, Tennessee, A&M, Florida, Arkansas, Ole Miss?

PSA: Ed Orgeron is the head coach at LSU. He will be thew head coach at LSU. Anything said on message boards by fans is just that, something said on message boards by people who in reality have no say in the matter.
The hiring process of Ed O sucked. Anger or frustration still exist from that process. Ed O did not, as head coach in 2017, have the LSU Tigers prepared to start the season. The team was soft. Ed O did, as head coach in 2017, pull a plane heading for the mountains out of a dive a saved his own arse. Good for him and good for LSU and LSU fans that everything did not crater.
Looking at what I have seen over the season, the jury and my own opinion on Ed O being the guy is still out. I don't feel the need to start threads defending or calling for the guys head because again see the PSA above. He will make his own bed, tight as a marine or loose as a goose and anything I say or think won't matter one fricking bit

Miles did this as well on numerous occasions................

And he was fired PJ, and there are few that think he should not have been. Get over your butthurt. We fired a better coach and hired O as his replacement. It was a crappy hire.

Good turn around this year..he survived..next season, on paper our SOS will be much more difficult and he might not be so fortunate..what’s his buyout next season?

Never said it wasn't A crappy hire.... BUT 9-3 is 9-3 with A new years day bowl game to follow...
I cheer for O cause he is the PRESENT coach of the team I root for... I will be critical of him when I need to yet I will raise him when its due... Just like I did with Miles........

And you found that acceptable?
It's a tad different when you lose to an SEC team you shouldn't than when you lose to a SBC team. I don't see how any LSU fan can not be concerned by the fact we loss to a much undermanned Fla. last yr. and a much less talented Troy this Yr. That's troubling to me, but each to our own.

The shitty blow out losses and the loss to Troy pretty much solidified what I said after the loss to Florida last year. We can finally get rid of the idea of hiring this proven loser. But what does Alleva do? Hired him like a little whiny kid because someone took his candy. Search my arse.

This x1000.
I don't see how anyone can be 100% on board thinking a guy who has never proven as a head coach he can win anything that matters will all of a sudden start winning everything. Can it happen- sure. The likelihood is very rare though.
Until he wins something, the West, the SEC, something that is a season long fight, I will be skeptical and critical of the LSU head coach on this board. Not that it matters.

Everyone blamed coach O for the Troy and MS loss. Ive never heard a peep anout giving Aranda some blame. We could also blame the team for a lackluster performance

I am somewhat pleasantly surprised.
I still think two things attributed to his success. 1 was a historically putrid SEC. we played three good to decent teams. We were 1-2.
2. Losing to Troy allowed O to fall into his nornal role of motivator, almost an interim.
Very good teams don’t get crushed at State. Kinda good teams don’t lose to Troy. Kinda ok teams can beat almost every SEC team this year

Never hated O. Seeing him as the interim and the way the players responded under him in 2016, esp the way the offense started putting up big numbers, had me hopeful that if he would be named HC we might be alright.
I knew it was going to be rough early on when players started:
transferring, I figured it was due to them not being able to adapt to O's vision of what he wanted
dismissed for behaviour (tehuma sp?)
suspended (Herron)
not qualifying (Shelvin)
Injuries (Guice)
The above situations caused a lack of depth that showed when a couple of starters got hurt. Tyler Shelvin hurt the most. Especially when Rashard and Ed went down. Gilmore was never recruited to be a NT. He was recruited to be a DT in a 4-3, same with Lacature.
Herron being suspended also factored in. So many people whether it be here on here or in youth sports say they want discipline, but, discipline can come with a price most don't want to pay.
I liked Miles for the most part. I thought he did a few players wrong over the years and was too stubborn to hire an OC that would do anything other than what Les wanted. My disappointment was when his teams would perform like there was nothing left to play for after an Alabama loss.
Anyway here's to O and staff filling needs on recruiting and not being overly concerned about class ranking.
eta: He/ his staff also took control of the penalties which was a viable criticism of his team early in the season.

Yes, we're 9-3. But this season wasn't anything to write home about. Our best performance, obviously, was beating Auburn in a good 2nd half comback. Every other team we beat were very bad teams. Then the worst loss in history to MSU and the loss to Troy...
Couple that with a lacking recruiting class this year... I'm not impressed.
Being that the SEC is so down and all these new coaches will be on year one, If O can't put up a 10-11 win regular season next year OR he doesn't pull a top ten recruiting class, I say bust.
I don't mind 2-3 mediocre seasons to rebuild a "philosophy", as long as recruiting doesn't drop off. But O has yet to prove he can do that.
