I'm not reading 6 pages of comments, just giving my thoughts now as requested in the OP.
I still hate the hire and think he's not the right guy long term.
We had some success this year and I have to pull for him to win because I want our Tigers to be winners. Long term I hope he proves me wrong but I think he will end up being detrimental to the program in the long term. What does it say about a head coach when most of the talk about the program is who is going to be the O or D Coordinator and will the head coach let them do their thing, When you have to hire O and D Coord's to compensate for your head coach it seems to me that you dont have the right head Coach.
Just my thoughts then and now.

That's really not a personal attack. It's just beating a dead horse and shows Ricky's lack of creativity. What Ricky doesn't get is Orgeron's resume is completely irrelevant at this point. It no longer matters whether or not he "deserved" to get the job. So, to keep bringing up his resume serves no purpose other than to needlessly bash Orgeron. There is nothing to be gained by continuously stating the opinion that he shouldn't have been hired in the first place. He's got the job, so all we can do is judge what we see.
Overall, his first season was a wash to me. It should have been better, but I commend him for keeping the team together after troy and having them playing really good ball down the stretch. The way the season played out gives me confidence that at a minimum, we're no worse off than if we had kept Miles. He's not going to "set the program back" as some like to claim.

now that doesnt mean he cant be successful at lsu.
and for the record i rarely bring up his ole miss days anymore.

Not me, man. I recognized Miles had flaws, but I thought his positives outweighed the negatives until the very end. I was fed up with him at the end of 2015, but he won me back with the A&M game. But the Auburn loss in 2016 was the last straw for me. I was shocked he actually got fired, but was glad it happened. I've been harsh on Miles at times since he was fired, but never while he was the coach. Check my post history. I hardly ever even posted while Miles was here.

Personally if we had kept the Miss State game closer and didn't lose to Troy at all this season would be pretty. Overall it was okay, if we win our bowl game I think almost any fanbase would be fine with 10 wins and a top 15 finish.
