Not sure if you noticed, but LSU is reported as having payed players before Wade got here. Also, yes we are breaking NCAA rules, but so is literally every other program.

To those who underestimate how many schools do this, consider that schools like Tulane and ULL were paying players 15+ years ago. Schools that dont even make the tourney have to pay players just to remain relevant. It's gotten so bad, that to not offer a player something is insulting and wasting their time.

In my opinion, and I'm certainly not an expert, is that Title 9 is a road block to paying these players. If you start paying for basketball players, then I'm sure theres some language that would mean the chess team should get the same.

Therefore, the underground community will always be there. LSU fans are pissed about being singled out, and talking heads are pissed at LSU for not falling in line and falling on the sword to preserve the image that this isnt as wide spread as it is.


Once again, all just my opinion. Will Wade probably only mentioned that to Dawkins on the phone because Dawkins and Wade weren't doing business together as Wade was using someone else. That's probably his only regret too, tbh.
