Lanning is extremely overrated. Despite having more money than god, he constantly gets out recruited and loses big games. Cristobal is just Cuban Lanning.
Kiffin is interesting but he wouldn't work here.
Cignatti is too old.
McGuire is also older, but with infinite money he seems like a decent enough coach. Freeman wouldn't come here.
Brent Key is interesting, but too big of a risk imo.
There are no real up and comers (that are availible) outside of Dillingham. Maybe Jedd Fisch? But he's pushing 50.... Feels like were in a bit of a drought of young, exciting coaches.
It would be funny if we got Drinkwitz just because of the anger it would cause Mizzou fans.

BK is a disaster. He doesn't have the chops to manage an SEC team,
quote:Well your relatives are Notre Dame fans. They know nothing about what makes a program a championship program. That was established long before Kelly got there.
Put it this way, my relatives went to ND, when they found out BK was leaving ND they threw a party.
quote:Very nice of you to be "ok" with booster shelling out $50+ million to fire a winning coach.
Pay him to leave, I am ok with that.
quote:We threw the ball more than 10 yards down the field a bunch last night. It's not Nuss, nor Kelly's fault that Chris Hilton can't catch the football.
if Nuss is hurt then bring in the one up - the fact we can't pass the ball more than 10 yards down the field is an embarrassment.

We are not a top 10 team
quote:Who are 25 better teams?
hell we are not even a top 25 team.

I would rehire Ed Orgeron. We need to go back to
[1] The binder
[2] The Joe Brady offense
[3] Fishing wholes.
[4] Blonde women
[5] 6-7 and 5-5 type seasons.
[6] Two top class co-ordinators which we hire for 2+ million dollars a year without interviewing them first.
If that is not a viable option, there is always Billy Napier. He can guarantee 5-7 every year.

Uhh yes it is… But I know Woodward would just hire another geriatric frick so I guess just stick with BK.

I never pretended he doesn’t have his flaws, they are obvious. But just feels like he has done more with less compared to BK and all the portal spending.

Dillingham would be my #1 target too.
I'd be very happy with Lane. It would at least be entertaining.
But the reality is BK isn't leaving and will be here at least 4 more years

These are the kinds of contracts that are getting Colleges in these situations.
I think 5 year deals should be the standard with incentives based on performance in that time frame after that if earned then sign the big time deals.

Gruden would be a terrible fricking idea. Where do some of you people get your football knowledge from? Jesus Christ man talk about LSU being in the shitter for the next 10 years if we hired somebody like Gruden! Give me a break.

I don't think it should happen if we're looking for a coach next year but it's worth keeping an eye on Kelvin Sheppard. Anytime a guy moves up in the ranks as quickly as he did with his former team its obvious that he's valued by his peers. He must be a wizard in meeting rooms. Give him a couple years to get some experience and prove himself, although if that happens he may be too successful to ever give us a shot

Part of me hopes this happens, thing is I'm not sure I trust Woodward with these hires for the money sports with McMahon having been a bust
