Paw-Paw switches from Bama to LSU due to CLM

I visited relatives in Birmingham for Christmas, some are Tiger fans, some Auburn, most are Tide fans. The patriarch, Paw-Paw, my daughter's delightful grandfather-in-law, has always been a devout Bama fan. He wears crimson, hounds tooth and at 89, adored the Bear. When I saw him yesterday for Christmas dinner, he wore no Bama colors and as soon as I got a chance to sit down with him I found out why.
"That coach of yours, that Les Miles, is a real man, he's a true Christian. We had a boy here with cancer, Sid Ortis, only 15 and Coach Miles was just wonderful to him. A lot of coaches would have made a visit for the cameras, but Coach Miles went way beyond that. I've always been an Alabama fan and always will be, but now my team will always be wherever Coach Miles is."
"He's had a few rough seasons, but you can't always count on a high school boy turning out the way you want."
I've been in favor of replacing Miles for a quite a while, maybe not so much anymore.

Be prepared for the usual anti Miles lynch mob to attack you.

I totally believe this post.
Really, I do.
Really, I do.

I'm one of them, but hearing Paw-Paw meant a lot.

I was so fond of Shula staying at Bama. Great guy.

None of us "anti-Miles" folks ever questioned the fact that Les is a great person. I think we all love that side of him. Hell, if being a good man was all that was needed, Les would have 6 or 7 National Championship titles.
The problem we have with him is with his coaching philosophy. We just don't believe he can win the big one. He isn't being paid to "be a good man". He's being paid (a boat load of money) to be a great coach and to bring LSU multiple National Championships. If in the span of his 11 years as HC of LSU, had he won 3 or 4 NCs, I honestly don't believe you could find a sane LSU fan that would be calling for his job. Why would you not want a man with his integrity who could bring you multiple championships running your show?

You know this is not true.
Some of you would want him gone because he doesn't throw enough or throws too much or doesn't throw to the right people. Others would be crying for his head because he doesn't win by a large enough score because he "always plays down to his opponent".
Then there is always the, "may me I don unnerstan him when he taks" crowd.
And never let us forget the " yeah remember when he did"....................." 10 years ago?
What is truly sad is that someone posts a story showing Les Miles in a good light and the usual Greek chorus storms in to try to stamp out any positive comment.
You people are seriously sick.

I was thinking the same thing. The only people who think Miles should keep his job are people who don't have LSU's best interest in mind and our own naive sunshine pumpers.

He'll be gone in a year or less

What position does Paw-Paw play? How many stars?

Miles will hopefully return to the ways of the Hat.

What? Can't win the big one? Since his hire no program has beaten more ranked teams than lsu. The reason you say he can't win the big one is because you only count losses as the big one.

Keep repeating that & maybe you will begin to believe it.

You know it's the truth...everyone knows it's the truth. It hurts being on the wrong side of the history.
