I mean he’s not getting fired. That’s just won’t happen unless he starts missing regionals

I don’t get this line of thinking. This is LSU it’s not like there’s some fear we’re going to fall off if CPM isn’t here. We went to 2 World Series in 5 years under Smoke so it doesn’t take some baseball wizard to win here. If you do however make a good hire you’ll exceed what Mainieri is doing easily.

So Mainieri dictates to the AD and the BOS how it's going to be? Thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware of that.

And that’s the way it should be. He’s the best and most successful coach on campus whether you want to believe he’s horrible or not

You guys need to stop blaming the coach in every sport for every loss. You even blame the track & filed coach because runners dropped the baton !!

Paul Mainieri- 13 seasons 5 World Series appearances: .38% of the time he reaches Omaha

Smoke Laval- 5 years 2 World Series: .40% of the time he reached Omaha

I think I'm the only one who disagrees. I think PM is treading on thin ice.

No sir. You are not the only one that feels that way.

This is just bad that you're making people defend CPM, but this analogy is awful. Didn't Smoke go his first two years and go 0-2 both times? CPM inherited an awful team and by year three was in Omaha and won it all in year four while appearing three other times including a 2012 team that was a Bregman error away from beating UCLA and a 2017 runner up finish.

While I agree he’s earned that respect, his time to do so is ticking away quickly. Paul is smart enough to know when to say when thereby securing his legacy, and our AD will ensure LSU is in the forefront.

I can't imagine people wanting him fired at this point. He at least needs another year.

You people that think Paul should be fired are the stupidest people on the planet. What coach would want to come to LSU after they fired a guy that has won a title, been to the cws multiple times and was the runner up just a few years ago. Football went through the same thing and LSU had to settle with their dline coach
