Explain this to me like I have been stuck on the CC board for a month. Dude deserves every dollar he can get but how does this occur when he is on a rookie deal? Genuine question.

What’s the question? The linked article explains it. There’s a $50 million bonus pool every season for players who aren’t eligible for arbitration and it’s allocated based on season awards and WAR.
