A) Do you really want Alleva hiring the new coach?

B) Who's on your list of guys that have proven to be better than Paul Mainieri? There are a few for sure but I don't think those few would leave their current situations. There are also a few that people would say are better but their resume doesn't really prove it. I'm not sure if there is a guy who is clearly better who also would leave his current job.

Are there any coaches in the 13 years he has been here who have replicated or surpassed his results nationally? Ray tanner would be my only answer to that

Are we really saying that the next coach has to have already done more in their career than Mainieri? If that's the standard, Mainieri wouldn't have been hired. He had fewer CWS appearances than Smoke Laval at the time he was hired.

Guess I was not clear. Over the 13 year span maineri has been here, who has had more success? No one except Ray Tanner, and that is solely due to his two natty's. Maineri is the epitome of consistency.

Several. I've listed all of this in detail for 2 years now. Granted, the list is short but mainieri has the top program/most resources. The standard response is that "other programs have caught up." I have cited articles showing that he's still at the premier program. The question is if you are ok with the top program not getting the top roi. The problem I have is that mainieri supporters argue against the facts with stupid things like "but national seeds."

I don't know that changing coaches is the best option and I am not panicking about the start of this season. Pm has his teams peaking at the sec tourney which is a LONG way away.

After watching his last several interviews, it appears he is a tired man and probably knows it’s time to hang it up. He has been a good representative for LSU and there is no shame in recognizing it’s time...
